Introduction to Pink Scheme

Pink Scheme is where children actually learn to

read in a very structured way.
A child learns the basic sounds of the 26 alphabets
through Sand Paper Letters [SPL].

Following this, they learn to match sounds to objects

- words using object boxes.

When all this has been accomplished, they are ready

to start stringing sounds together to form simple
words. Starting with simple CVC (consonant-vowel-
consonant) words, they build the foundation of
literacy for their future.

Eg ‘o’ & ‘p’ joined together becomes ‘op’ and then

when another sound ‘c’ is added to the beginning of
‘op’ it forms the word ‘cop’.

They, then match words to cards, then move on to

reading phrases and finally sentences.
