RESEARCH THESIS & Research Thesis
PUBLICATION Developed a high precision manufacturing process called ballising which was
(While proceeding for my joint venture between University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom and
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, 1995-1998.
The overall aim of the project was to implement off-line and on-line quality
control systems and to study the effects of ball diameter, interference, lubrication,
wall thickness (D/d ratio) and specimen length on surface finish and bore quality.
Taguchi design of experiment was used to reduce the number and cost of
experiments, improve the quality characteristic, “lower is better” and to get the
optimum levels of the factors.
