Sub: Conduct of the South Zone Inter University Men Football Tournament 2018- 19

I’m happy to inform you that the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi has entrusted the responsibility
of organizing the South Zone Inter University Men Football 2018-19 to Pondicherry University.
I, on behalf of the Organizing Committee do take great pleasure to invite your University team to participate in
the South Zone Championship. This championship will be held from 3rd to 11th December 2018 at Pondicherry
University.

The fixture is enclosed for your kind perusal.

Detailed Information/Instructions are as follows:
1) The tournament will be conducted at five venues
 Pool A: PU ground I
 Pool B: Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium
 Pool C: Thiruvalluvar Stadium
 Pool D: PU ground II
 PU ground III

2) Pondicherry is a port city 150 kms away from Chennai and is connected by rail from all parts of the
country. Buses are available to Pondicherry University from the Pondicherry bus stand.

3) The Competition will be organized in accordance with the rules and regulations of the FIFA adopted
by AIU.
4) The Tournament will commence from 3rd to 11th December 2018.
 5) A meeting of the Team Managers will be held at 4.30 pm on 2nd December 2018 at the Directorate of
Physical Education & Sports, Pondicherry University.
6) Four copies of the Eligibility Performa and recent photo Identity cards of the Current academic year
duly signed by the competent authority should be submitted to the Organizing Secretary on arrival.
Hand written eligibility will not be accepted.
7) Officiating charge of Rs. 1500/- per match should be paid by the participating Universities to the
Organizing Secretary before the commencement of each match for which receipts will be issued.
8) All expenses on local transport shall be borne by the participating Universities only.

9) Only unfurnished accommodation will be provided for the teams. A refundable Security Deposit of
Rs.2000/- per team will have to be deposited at the time of occupying the accommodation. It will be a
sole responsibility of the Manager / Coach of the participating teams to see that absolute discipline is
maintained among the participating players and no damage is made at the place of lodging of the
players. Besides participating teams are requested to bring with them a lock and key.

10) Accommodation will be provided only one day prior to the commencement of the matches and are
expected to vacate immediately if they fail to qualify for the next round.

11) A Reception counter will be functioning from 8.00 am onwards on the 2nd of December 2018
at Puducherry Railway Station and Pondicherry Bus Stand.

12) Participating teams shall intimate to the undersigned about their date and time of arrival well in
advance. The teams withdrawing from the tournament may also be requested to inform well in
advance (d_sbegum@yahoo.co.in)

13) The Organizing secretary reserves the right to make changes in the programme and the venue,
if necessary. The decision of the committee shall be final and binding. The team managers and players
are requested to co-operate with the organizing secretary for the smooth conduct of the tournament. A
