Release Notes practiX version 1.

43
13th February 2015

New Functionality
Medicare Online – June 2014: This does bring practiX up to date with the most advanced release of
Medicare Online. There may be small changes in some details printed and how claims are
transmitted to Medicare and Eclipse.

One of the more noticeable changes is the order in which item numbers are transmitted to
Medicare. This corrects a few issues but specifically an issue where sometimes Health Funds were
having difficulty determining which items were affected by the Multi-Operation rule and were in
turn paying incorrectly.

PCEHR Changes: As the PCEHR evolves and is used in earnest, we have made some changes to the
way that practiX interacts with the PCEHR based on feedback that we have received.

- IHI / HPI-O Revalidation Changes: Healthcare Identifiers (IHI and HPI-O) must be re-
validated frequently, and unfortunately this is a requirement that is laid down as a part
of the conformance process to connect to the PCEHR. However, we have greatly
increased the flexibility in choosing how much time may pass before you must re-
validate these items.

- Shared Health Summary Upload: The interface to upload a patient’s Shared Health
Summary has been re-worked significantly around the use, explicitly setting Exclusion
Statements (an explanation on why there is no data for a given section) as well as
bringing in concepts around including or excluding Medications or Conditions from the
Shared Health Summary by default. A ‘confidential’ setting further gives the clinician a
warning advising that the selected item was flagged as confidential to assist with making
sure that only the right data ends up published.

eRX Script Express Support: Now printing a QR barcode on the script, brings online support for
eRX’s “eRx Express” mobile phone application.

Manual Postcode Maintenance: As new residential developments happen, new post codes come
into play. We have now enabled the ability to add, remove and modify postcodes. Of note though,
the system default postcodes cannot be modified or removed.

Version 1.6 June 2014

Upgrade process Streamlining: The upgrade process has been almost completely re-written.
Primary changes are:

- Allow users to see ahead of time what enhancements and bug fixes are available in a
given version

- Download (but at this point not run) upgrades themselves

- Streamlined the upgrade process for more efficient upgrades and less downtime.

Un-imported Messages Warnings: Provides a user with information when results remain in a
directory practiX is configured to import results / referrals from.

Adjustment notes: Adjustment notes included on the Adjustment Listing financial report.

Fixes
HL7 import issues: Numerous changes and amendments to the process involved with importing HL7
messages, fixing a number of issues.

Billing Issues: Minor corrections to the billing screen and the way claims are generated and
released.

Print 1 Medicare Voucher: In some conditions the system would print 2 Medicare vouchers despite
this option being ticked. Corrected this issue.

Tabulated Results: Fixed issues relating to how Tabulated Results would be displayed when
importing information from Custom Forms.

Custom Programs / Forms: Fixed errors that would occur when the same data was recorded on
multiple custom forms

SMS Replies window issue: When the SMS Replies screen is moved, it still stays within border of
main practiX screen. This issue has been fixed.

Multiple Published Notes issue: When there is multiple published notes in Patient details, when the
Action Taken is clicked without selecting any record, a RTE occurs. This issue has been fixed
