ERASMUS

International Student Exchange Program Scheme

About The
Programme
The Erasmus+ Programme is a
European funding programme
established in 1987 offering
university students a possibility of
studying or doing an internship
abroad in another country for a
period of at least 2 months and
maximum 12 months per cycle of
studies. Erasmus+ now offers the
possibility to go way beyond the
European borders as well.

Scholarship
Each student receives a grant which covers partly the costs of the stay abroad. Grants differ from
sending and host countries. The amount of grant is made public by each partner university, so you can
just ask the respective International relation office. The grant can often be complemented by regional
or national grants.Students going on exchange under the ERASMUS+ programme pay the tuition fees
at their home university. Please be aware that in most cases though, the Erasmus+ grant alone will not
cover all the life expenses during the exchange

Where can I go on a Scholarship?

This is up to the applicant to decide by researching Erasmus exchange partner institutions and
suitability of the course on offer. It will also depend on where you are wanting to go, with more
scholarships available in places like the UK, Spain and France. There are over a thousand institutions
that are partners in the Erasmus Exchange program based throughout the world.

How to Apply?

1. Check the deadline for applications

of your sending institution and the
eligibility criteria.

Each Higher Education Institution
has its own deadline for
applications. One should start your
preparations by checking all of the
deadlines.

2. Choose the institution where you

want to go on exchange

Things to remember when choosing
the institution where you will be
studying abroad:

Check the list of institutions you can go to. You can do your Erasmus+ Mobility for studies in
any institution that has an agreement with IIM Indore. Check the programme for the semester
at IIM Indore – see what the mandatory subjects are and how many free electives you have.
Check the study programme in the potential receiving institutions and see if they have
comparable learning outcomes. Check with the IR Office at IIM Indore, whether studying at
that particular university is possible.

3. Apply at your sending institution

Each partner university has its own application procedure. Sometimes you will have to submit
your CV and motivation letter, in other cases you will have to present yourself in front of a
special commission to be chosen. Make sure you are well prepared!

To apply for a grant

The interested student should apply to the international office and/or Erasmus+ office of his
or her sending higher education institution. The office will inform him or her of the
possibilities of studying in the particular institution as well as the modalities to apply and to
receive an Erasmus+ EU grant.

4. Once the application and/or grant is accepted, prepare the necessary travel documents.
