Demand for solar power technology will keep growing in the years
ahead – but competitive pressure remains high for solar manufacturers. These
are the conditions that SolarWorld must respond to. For 2017, the company
has announced plans to boost its competitiveness by focusing entirely on
monocrystalline high-efficiency technology. Dr.-Ing. E. h. Frank Asbeck, founder
and CEO of SolarWorld AG, explains where the journey is headed.

Dr.-Ing. E. h. Frank Asbeck (57) founded SolarWorld AG in 1998.

The company has been listed on the stock market since 1999, as
one of the first solar power companies worldwide. Frank Asbeck
holds a 20.85 percent stake in SolarWorld. As CEO, he is responsible
for strategic group development, innovation, technology develop-
ment and public relations, including energy and environmental
policy.
