ROOF TOP LADDER
Safety, while working over Asbestos Cement sheets, has assumed high significance due to
serious risks involved, often resulting in fatal accidents and it is difficult for any employer to
escape from the responsibilities of providing safe working methods to his employees. Factory
Rules state the Protective measures relating to Fragile Roofs as
“In any factory, no worker shall be required to stand or pass over or work on or near any roof or
ceiling covered with fragile material through which he is liable to fall, in case it breaks or gives
way, a height of more than 03 meters, unless:-
A) Suitable and sufficient ladders, duck ladders or crawling boards which shall be securely
supported, are provided and used; and
B) A permit to work on the fragile roof is issued to him each time he is required to work there on
by a responsible person of the factory concerned.
Out of this, crawling board (also called Roof Ladder) is the only device which can be used for
working safely above A. C. Sheets and thereby its usage becomes a statutory requirement for
any work (like sheet replacement, laying of new sheets, bolt replacement, leak proofing etc.)
Above A.C sheet roofs.
Based on the above, your decision today could be timely. We at Sure Safety are just a phone call
away to help you.
Safety Roof Top Ladder is manufactured from sturdy extruded light weight aluminum provided
with a sliding device, Elevating pads and Quick-action clamps.
The system permits a linear coverage of 10.5m from any point on a fragile roof. Working on the
platforms is possible up to 1.2m from the ladder path. For working beyond 1.2m the ladder can be
adjusted across the roof corrugations.
Ladder System Distributes the weight of the worker over several saddles to ensures that the
weight is transferred equally to the load bearing structure of the roof for the safety of the worker,
instead of the fragile corrugated roof. The ladders are so designed that a worker can reach any
point from the roof and not necessarily from the apex
