‘A. Define on the following:
(i) Adjacent channel interference. (iiyMAHO.
(iv)Remote radio head(RRH).
(iii) 3/9 frequency reuse pattern.
B. Consider TDMA/FDD GSM cellular mobile communication omnicell system covers 6
October city that has an are: 9340) Km? Each cell has @ radius of 10Km. NTRA allocates
totally 20 MHz for that system. The channel bandwidth is/200 KHz) Assume the desired
blocking probability is T% Assume the carrier to interference ral rovide acceptable
performance is 28.2 dB; Assume two control channels per cel traffic per subscriber
is 25 milliErlangs. i i ervice area.(ii) The
frequency reuse pattern. (iii) The humber of traffic channels per cell.(iv) The traffic
intensity per cell. (v)The number of users per cell.

A. Draw rake receiver and explain its operation.
B.Consider FDMA / FDD cellular mobile communication omnicell system covers Badar
city that has 50000 residents. 20% of the population subscribed in that system. Each cell
has a radius of 15 Km. Each user is assigned one call as busy hour call attempts and 72
seconds as average call holding time. Assume frequency reuse pattern js 3 cells and the
blocking probability is 2%. Determine: (i)The traffic per subscriber in Erlangs. (ii)The
frequency reuse distance. (iii) The number of channels per system. (iv) The number of
channels per cell. (v) The number of MSs that can be served by cach cell.

A. Write short account includes definition, types and benefits on the following:
(i) Relay node (RN). (ii) Femtocell.
B. Consider GSM TDMA/FDD cellular mobile communication omnicell system covers
AL-Shourouk city. NTRA allocates 7MHz for each of the reverse link and the forward
link. The channel bandwidth is 200 KHz. Assume the frequency reuse pattern is 7 cells
and each cell serves 1240 users and each user is assigned 25 milliErlang as a quota .The
average call holding time is 1.5 minutes. (i)Determine the number of channels per cell.
(ii)If the system is BCC, determine its grade of service (GOS). (iii)If the system is BCD,
with probability of delay 5% and the acceptable time is 10 seconds, determine its grade of
service (GOS). (iv) Which system is better BCC or BCD? Why? (v)Determine both the
average delay of all calls and the average delay of delayed calls of BCD system.
