TEKS 2.8 – create a two dimensional

shapes based on given attributes,
including number of sides and vertices
Transformations

A transformation is where
any shape is altered or
moved across a the grid
plane using the operations
translation, reflection,
rotation, or dilation.

Translation

Translation means that the

shape, and every point, is
moved the same direction
and same amount. It is does
not rotate, reflect, or change
in size.
Example of Tranlations

down two and
right six

Reflection

Reflection means that the

image is reflected (mirrored)
across a certain line or axis.
Example of Reflection

Reflected
across x=4

Rotation

Rotation means that the shape

is rotated clockwise or
counterclockwise by a certain
degree around a fixed point on
the grid. The shape is not
resized in any way.
Example of Rotation

Rotate the
degrees
clockwise
