Conventional Fire Alarm System

A Conventional Fire Alarm is not a complicated system. It works by dividing the number of detection
zones into a building, with the fire detections and manual call points within each zone wired on dedicated
circuit’s zone to the fire control panel. It can be installed to multiple alarm detectors in one zone. When
any detector is activated, the fire control panel identifies the zone circuit that contains the triggered device
and so indicates the zone from which the fire alarm has originated, the operator has to be manually found
to pinpoint the individual alarm device.

Addressable Fire Alarm System

Intelligent Addressable fire alarm systems are the most advanced than conventional type and the
components have its individual unique identifiers. When any components initiate, it will indicate the
address on the fire alarm control panel (FACP). Most of themajor facilities should use these systems to
quickly pinpoint where the trouble signal originated. The operator can save a lot of time to eliminate the
need to find the device which has produced the signal. Depending on the protocol used, a Signalling Line
Circuit (Loop) can monitor and control several hundred devices. Each device on an SLC has its own
address, and so the control panel knows the state of each individual alarm device connected to it.
