Professional Development Plan

(What do YOU need to work on in order to grow professionally?)
I need to work on managing students’ behaviour.

1. Choose and describe an aspect from a teaching competency that you need to work on (Goal)
I need to work on managing students’ behaviour by using different strategies to motivate children in following the rules.
For example, follow direction.

2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used)
I will use several strategies to achieve my goal. For example, I will reinforce the good behaviour to children copy what
their friend is doing. Also, I will use the reward system to reward the good behaviour and motivate the children to
follow my rules.

Grade Level: Subject: Learning Outcome (ADEC/MOE code and words):

KG2.1.2.1.5: Write the numbers on the number, for
KG2 Science example: How many grains of orange in the basket?

MOE:
K2.1.1.2.4: Know the force is pushing and pulling.
K2.2.1.2.4: Provide evidence based on the observations he makes
that push and pull can change the direction of the body’s
movement.

Lesson objectives:
Children will be able to tell how to change the speed and direction
of objects.
Resources (what materials/equipment will you and Preparation (what do you need to make or check before
the students use? Be specific) class?)

PowerPoint, to read the story. All the materials are available in the classroom and enough
for all the students.
Flashcards; motion, force, push, pull, direction, speed
Technology is working, the Wi-Fi and smartboard.

Introduction (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

Teacher: I will…
 Remind the students of what they take last week in science.
 Review the motion lesson.
 Ask the students to think what is forces.
 Play the video, what is forces?
 Ask the students about what they hear in the video.
 Show the students the box and let them guess what is inside the box.
 Take the car from the box and ask them:
 How can I move the car? How can I but a force in a car?
 Take the ball from the mystery box and ask them:
 What will happen if I kick the ball? Does it do faster or slower? In what direction does it move?
Time: 10 min

 So, how can we change the way things move?

 Real Life Application Question: Where can we see motion around us?

Active Engagement (group working with the teacher)

Science activity: design a marble track. The marble should change direction, change speed, and push
another marble. And remind the students of the Engineer process.

Materials: marbles or small balls, cardboard box, colors

Benefits: this activity will help children in critical thinking and they will analyze and solve the problem.
Children will learn the direction and where the marble move by the colors line.

Differentiation: the three levels of students will have the same materials to explore the force. In explain,
each student from these three levels will explain the direction and the speed of the marble in deferent way.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)

Literacy activity: children will try to copy the words in the flashcards.

Materials: flashcards of; ‘motion, force, push, pull, direction, speed,’ white boards, markers.

Benefits: children will learn deferent ways to write by using markers and white boards, as they will develop
their fine motor skills and mathematical skills.

Independent Experience (small group activity 2)

Time: 15 min

Numeracy activity: children will make a street by using cubes, and they will have cars to see how the car
move? Does it do faster or slower? In what direction does it move?
Small

Materials: cubes, woods, cars

Benefits: this activity will help children in critical thinking and they will analyze and solve the problem. As
well as it will help the mathematical intelligent students because they will count cubes while they make the
street. Moreover, this activity will improve the social/ communication skills while they explain and discuss
with each other.

Differentiation: the three levels of students will have the same materials to explore the force. They will
count the cubes while they do a street. And will explain what is force, speed and direction with their friends.

Independent Experience(small group activity 3)

Art activity: children will create their own smooth or rough surface by using plates, tape, and papers to see
the speed of the marbles if it goes fast or slow.

Materials: marbles or small balls, plates, papers, scissors, glues, toilet rolls, tape.

Benefits: this activity will help children in critical thinking and they will analyze and solve the problem.

Differentiation: the three levels of students will have the same materials to explore the force. In explain,
each students from these three levels will explain how they did their surface, what materials did he/she
choose, and will explain and discuss the direction and the speed of the marble/car in each surface.

Clean up song; children will clean the classroom and go back to the mat.
5 mins

Students will talk about their work, what they learn and what they do in the activities.

Assessment

Observe how children work in the activities (in group) and ask them questions to make sure that they
understand the concept. For example, the questions are;

What are you doing?

 What will happened to the marble?

 Does it do faster or slower?
 In what direction does it move?
 How can we change the way things move?
Take notes about their work. For example,
