2:15-2:30 – Journals, Folders & Dismissal
- Folders are sent home everyday with homework on Monday that is
due on Friday they also include your child’s behavior chart for the
week and information flyers provided by the school. Please do
check your child’s folder everyday when it comes home and make
sure to send it back to school the next day. Any flyers or graded
assignments sent home should remain at home unless it is to be
re-done

Class Rules
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
Raise your hand
Respect others
Take responsibility
Practice manners (please & thank you)
Do your best but don’t give up
Mistakes are okay
Students will be held to these rules as well as rules that they make on
the first day. Rewards are given on Fridays to those with good behavior
through the week. Consequences for bad behavior will be given also;
losing points on class dojo, emoji change, or phone call home. At the
beginning of class, we will do our handshakes and 5-minute bloom.

Behavior
- There will be a chart in the classroom; the student will get to
design their own clip to keep track of their day.
- In their folder will be the weekly behavior chart that goes home
with them every day to you.
- All students start off on light blue because that’s when the sun is
out and shining in the sky.
- Class dojo will be used to keep you updated about their day this
includes pictures of their work, class achievements, and individual
achievement

Rewards & Consequences

Every Friday students will get to pick out of the treasure box due to
good behavior throughout the week. At the end of the month if the class
has collected more than 100 points they will get a party. I want to
encourage students to have good behavior without just doing good to get
a prize which is why I don’t reward until the end of the week. Privileges
will be made by the students on the first day of class and can be taken
away when behavior has gotten taken away; time out will come after I
have sat down with them and talked out the problem. If they have
multiple reds on their weekly behavior chart I will schedule a parent
meeting.

Homework
Any homework that is sent home is due on Friday; it will be graded and
sent back home Monday along with any new homework. I will have
tutoring sessions during group activities if I see that the child is
struggling on some topics whether it be class work or homework. I will
go over the homework in class if I see that multiple people did not do
well. I advise that parents refrain from helping their child by giving
them the answers this homework is given to them for practice. The
lessons that the homework cover will be shown in multiple ways;
visuals, physical, and with music. If your child falls behind on
homework I will have a dedicated time where we have a student teacher
meeting and I help them catch up on their work and get on track.

Absences
If your student is absent, please send a note the next day so I can turn
it in to the principle. Any work that has been missed will be explained
and sent home. Work from absent days is due by Friday as well as any
other homework. If the work is completed early you may send it to me
in their folder and I will send it back home graded the same day.

Visitors and events

If you would like to chaperone any events or visit your child during
lunch time you must go through the office first to get your visitors
sticker that way, we know that you are here. If you wish to take your
child home with you; you must sign them out through the teacher and
the office. Events will have times, dates, and locations on the flyer;
contact the office if you would like to help chaperone the students on
their adventures.
