To ensure that such activities do not lead to chaos and conflict.
What 2 aspects are very important in a lesson to establish authority?
How lessons are started and ended has major significance for establishing authority.

It is important for lessons to start quickly

While it is part of good rapport between teacher and pupils for some social interchange to
take place, the need for the teacher to establish order quickly must take precedence.
How should students exit?
Orderly and reasonably.
What is the simplest way to ensure an orderly exit?
Is to establish a routine governing how pupils leave the room.

List some activities where teacher could lose control.

Handing in or giving out books – moving furniture about,
Collecting equipment – closing a window and even sharpening

What is a major issue related to control?

The level of classroom noise.
Explain what a teacher needs to do to manage this.
Once the teacher has asked pupils to pay attention, it is important to wait momentarily for
quite before commencing the verbal exchange, so that no one has to speak loudly to be
heard over a level of background noise.

Control over classroom activities requires vigilance.

Article 2 - Creating Rules
Consider:
 The importance of rules
 Strategies for writing effective rules
 What factors help you to choose particular rules?
 How can you have children involved in creating these rules?

Manage the classroom is very important for all teacher to start teaching in the classroom. The
most important aspects is to have full controls on the students which cannot be achieved
without rules and procedures to make sure the lesson started and completed on time.

There should be rules in each class that will help the teacher to control her students during the
lesson such us, don’t talk when the teacher talk, easer your hand if you want to say something,
don’t move in the class, don’t make noise in the class, you should save the tools class and the
students should ask if they don’t understand the lesson.

The above choices of rules to help teacher to complete the lesson with in the class time also to
make the students more organize during the class if the students follow the classroom rules the
students will gain more information.

It is always better for the teacher to be in the class before the students to see if the students
come to the classroom quietly and an order. Teacher should welcome the children with smile
face because the teacher himself affects the student himself.

It is important for students to sit in their place and listen to the teacher without making any
noise, this way will help the teacher to complete her lesson and will help students to
understand more. During the lesson if some students are asking some question not related to
the lesson the teacher should stop them and ask them some other question about the lesson,
also if some students was talking and making noise the teacher should stop them and let them
pay attention in the class. The teacher should wait until the students shut their mouth and listen
to the teacher after that only the teacher can complete her lesson.

It is easy for the teacher to teach the students if the students follow the classroom rules. The
most important thing that teacher can control over the noise and the teacher should know how
to act with this noise.

Discipline is another important aspect in the classroom which can be used as a correction to
control any misbehavior during the lesson in the class, normally there are two ways to control
over discipline the first way is to give for the students some tasks that make them busy such as
repeat to read the sentences and write the new vocab these things will make students pay
attention with teacher and they will focus with the lesson. The second way is to punish the
students, coercion, threats and intimidation them. Some students will make noise in the class
we should try the first way for control the discipline to give them some tasks to make them
busy with their work if this way it doesn’t work with them then we can move to other way that
is punish the students and reprimands them. For some students the first way will be enough for
them while for other students we need to use other way and they need more punishment.

PART 2:
Task 4-A: My Effective Classroom Rules

During TP I made some classroom rules for my lesson I print my rules and I stick it in the class.
My rules were:
• Listen when someone is speaking.
• Raise your hand to speak.
• Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
• Always be kind and honest.
• Leave the room only if you have permission.
Rules help us to feel safe and secure. I did these rules to manage my class and it will help me
to make my class more organize. To effective learning environment students should be quite
and listen to the teacher. The rules will help the students to improve their behavior.

According to Kyriacou the teacher needs to effectively regulate classroom activities and
teacher-pupil interaction.

At beginning of TP, I presented my rules on a poster it is include some pictures and I explain
to them each rules is about what and I discuss that is important to follow this rules and I say
to them we should start practice from today if I see any misbehave I will punish those
students. Every day I start to remind them my rules and I encourage every student who
follows the classroom rules.

Teacher need rules because the rules will help teacher to keep the class safety and the class
will be quite so the teacher can teach the students in easy way and the students will
understand the lesson quickly, also it help teacher to make students organized inside the
class and it will help teacher to control students.
