Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

I will ask the students to stand up for the hello song, we will sing and dance together.

I will greet the students, they will greet me back, followed by a brief how are you today.
10-15 minutes
Whole Time:

I will first start off the lesson by asking the students what the color of the cover is, what colors
they see and what they see on the cover (fish, ocean, etc). I will the give them a brief overview
on what I will be reading and ask if they can guess what will the story be about solely based on
the title and image on the cover. As I read the story I will ask them questions about the story.
After I finish the story I will ask if anyone wants to retell the story from what they remember. I
will help/guide them if needed.

I will model the activities and ask each group (by color) to go to an activity. Ex; red group I want
you to go to the yellow table and work on the printing activity.

Guided Experience (group working with the teacher) advancing

Students will each be given an A4 paper and a paper plate, the paint will be at the center of the
table. Students will each squeeze paint onto their plates to create the color of their desired fish
using their imagination and hard motor skills, they will then, with my help, place their hand on
the paint pattern they created and print the fish onto the A4 paper. After they dry up I will cut the
fish to hang using the scissors.
