CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION.
The Rubin Center
This building used to be named Seamon Hall was built in 1917. The building
served as a place for the testing of materials such as ore. The building was later
named Seamon Hall in memory of William H. Seamon, who was a metallurgy
professor from 1919 to 1927. Many have seen the ghost of a pregnant woman and
her unborn child, they believe she was buried there. Custodians who work at night
have also seen a suspicious 1930’s vehicle dropping off a woman in front of the
building during dark hours.

Old Main Building

Old Main, was the first building in the campus therefore it is the oldest building
dating back to 1917. It was used for classrooms, offices, and even as a library. Old
Main was a museum as well created by Professor Howard E. Quinn, but it later
moved to the Centennial Museum in 1937.Many faculty, staff, and students on
campus working late into the evening have experienced ghostly visions,
footsteps, banging doors, or distant screams. The building now serves as the
Department of Anthropology and Sociology.

Centennial Plaza
Centennial Plaza was built to commemorate the 100 year celebration of UTEP. Its
design with nature and the hand-carved and hand-painted Lhakhang decorates its
surroundings. This gift was from the Kingdom of Bhutan to the University. The
plaza will unite students, faculty and staff as a unique landscape. Many events
and activities can take place here, students are also able to use it to play sports,
read, or spend time with friends while they are in campus.
