Teaching Practice Task 3: Noting Teaching and Learning Strategies

Program link: This task is associated to the guidelines of the course EPC 3403 – Practicum 3a (Course
Learning Outcome 1 –planning the lesson, 2- designing and creating resources, 3 – maintaining a
positive environment, 4 – considering individual differences and 5 – timing)

Objective: You will Identify and assess teaching and learning strategies. At the end of each day, you
will note a teaching strategy that you or the teacher used that you consider very useful and you
would want to use again. This strategy can deal with the planning of the lesson, the use of materials
and technology, the review of prior learning, the motivation of the children, the presentation of the
materials, the appropriateness of the practice activities, classroom management strategies, timing
strategies, reviewing the lesson, general assessment of the learning or if you are lucky enough to talk
to your teacher, her reflection on her lesson.

Grade: Week:
Day 1: Subject: math
Learning Outcome: By the end of the lesson students will be able to add three and
four digits’ numbers.
Strategy: differentiation
- Teacher divide the students into different groups depend on their levels
such as, green group for mastered level, yellow groups for middle level and
red group for high level. Each group had different type of activity also, she
used the groups in individual works by gave all student in one group same
worksheet.
Day 2: Subject: math
Learning Outcome: By the end of the lesson students will be able to model the
multiplication questions.
Strategy: planning of the lesson (GRRM VISION)
- At the beginning of the lesson ask about the operations that they learnt it
so, she review with students.
- Then ask about the multiplication mean then, use example from the book
to explain what the multiplication mean. I do, you watch
- Put example in the board and through this example the teacher explains
the lesson. I do, you help
- Put questions for students to answer it in the board and help them.

- Present the book in the smart board then, let the students to open the
book and think about the first example then, teacher explain the question
and solve it with students. you do, I help
- Present the book questions and explain it for students to solve it then,
write the answer in the board to make sure all students write the answer
correctly. you do, I help
- Follow the book rule by start with easy questions to more complex
- let the students to answer some questions in the book individually. you do, I
watch
- Teacher assess the students by correct the questions for students who
finish answering the questions and reward them by put stars in their books.
Day 3: Subject: Math
Learning Outcome: By the end of the lesson students will be able to multiplication
as repeated addition.
Strategy: Modeling
- Model the activities on the smart board used the PP presentation by
present the worksheet or the activity then, explain what they should do.

Day 4: Subject: Math


Learning Outcome: By the end of the lesson students will be able to divide into
equal parts.
Strategy: Review the prior knowledge
- The teacher used the numbers story to review the prior knowledge and
relate to the new lesson by told the students story and through the story
student will use the last concept and add the new concept on it.

Day 5: Subject: Math


Learning Outcome: By the end of the lesson students will be able to identify the
relationship between the division and subtraction.
Strategy: Reviewing the lesson
- At the end of the lesson teacher used box that contain many questions
cards and each student choose card to answer the question and all
questions relate to the lesson.
