Standard 1: Learning Purpose and Connections

Standard 4: Student Understanding of and Responsibility for Learning
 How will students know the learning goals, the performance criteria and purpose of the
lesson?

 Constant reviewing of previous lessons. Online programs used on
tablets or computers that can be accessed at home and at school.
 I would make a new objective every day that is clear to the students
and make sure they know the importance of learning what is being
taught.
 Using programs such as Kahoot.it or different educational games on
the tablets/ computers to refresh the student’s memory.
 Level 1 and Level 2, starting to use level 3.
 As a teacher, I would help students use new technologies and
programs such as google classroom which will help them
better understand.
 Students will be given weekly tests/ quizzes to show their
knowledge of what they have learned.
 They will use their drawing conclusion skills to make a visual
representation of what they have learned and share it with their
fellow classmates.
 Students will make story maps, interactive boards, and work in
groups to create posters demonstrating what they’ve learned.
 With every assignment I give, students will be expected to add their
own creativity and personal experiences. Drawing and making their
own personal interpretations.
 I will have students work together several different ways. One of
which is having them work individually and then coming together to
compare and contrast their own ideas. Another way would be having
them work together in groups or in partners to analyze stories or
make posters/ story boards. I would want them to give each other
feedback and learn from their classmates.
 An objective will be written down daily in their notebooks/ agendas
at the start of the class and they will get a small grade based on their
participation in writing it.
 We can have time set aside for student evaluation while everyone is
working. The student will have a portfolio kept on a tablet that they
can access while in the classroom but can also be accessed online
from their home.
 Along with their online portfolio’s I can send with them a procedure
chart which walks them through revising on their own and at home
as well as setting aside time in class for revising without singling out
students.

Standard 5: Assessment Integrated Into Instruction
 How were student pre-assessments or work samples used to plan this lesson?
 What evidence of student learning will be generated during the lesson? (i.e., writing one-on-
one conferencing, discussion with peers, instructional tasks)
 How will students receive formative feedback?
 How are instructional adjustments based on students’ results from their formative
assessments?
 Students tend to work better in groups or pairs and t helps them pen
up to work individually while developing social skills.
 Classroom discussion, peer revisions, comparing and contrasting
work in groups, instructional tasks.
 On my website, I will create a tab for student and parent feedback
which can be kept private. Students and teachers should have a
specific individual code which allows all information to be kept
confidential between us.
 If students are not doing so well all together that shows me that I
need to step up my teaching and lessons and try something different.
If students are doing well, that tells me I am doing something right
and may even open doors to more opportunities/ challenges in the
future of the classroom.
