1. ACI 318 – 83
2. AISC 1977
3. NSCP 10th Edition 2010
B. All drawings shall not be scaled for the purposes, unless otherwise indicated.
C. For all other requirements, refer to the Architectural, Sanitary, Electrical and
Mechanical working drawings.
Footings
1. Footings are designed to rest on soil with a minimum bearing capacity of 130 KPa.
2. No footings shall rest on fill.
3. Minimum concrete protection shall be 75 mm for concrete deposited against the
ground and 40 mm for concrete deposited against formwork.
B. All concrete must be deposited, vibrated and cured in accordance with the
standards of ACI 318 – 83.
D. Concrete shall be cast on its final position without segregation or flowing. Placing
shall be done preferably with buggies, bucket or wheel borrows. No chutes will be
allowed except when transferring concrete from hoppers to buggies, wheel barrows
or buckets such cases shall not exceed 6000 mm in aggregate length. No casting of
concrete shall be allowed without the use of vibrators, unless authorized, in writing
by the designer(s) and for conditions in which vibrators are extremely difficult to
accomplish.
A. Camber all beams and girders with at least 6.20 mm for every 300 mm of span.
C. No splicing shall be permitted on beams and girders where critical bending stress
occurs. Tension splices to be permitted shall be 48 times the bar diameter for plain
bars and 24 times the bar diameter for deformed bars. Lap splices shall be wired
together. Splice top bars at supports. Bend bars at bend points in superstructure.
Welded splices shall be developed for tension, at least 125% of the specified yield
strength. Not more than 50% of the bars at any section shall be permitted to be
spliced.
D. If any beam reinforcing bars end in a wall, the clear distance from the bar end to the
farthest face of the wall shall not be less than 50 mm. Minimum embedment length
shall be 40 times the bar diameter for tension bars and 20 times the bar diameter
for compression bars.
Slabs
A. All reinforcements shall be 20 mm clear from the top and bottom of the slab.
B. For two-way slabs, bars along the short span shall be placed below the bars along
the long span at the center and for the bars that are near to the supports, they shall
be placed over the long span. Unless otherwise specified or shown in details, the
spacing of the bars at the column strips is approximately 1 ⅓ of the strip, not in no
case it will be greater than 2 ⅔ times the slab thickness.
D. Temperature bars shall be generally placed near the tension side and shall not be
less than 0.0025bt.
E. Unless otherwise noted, all bedded slab shall be reinforced with 10 mm diameter
bar at 254 mm on centers at the center of slab construction joints and shall not be
more than 300 mm apart.
C. The fabricator shall submit shop drawings subject for approval of the engineer and
the owner.
Concrete Column
Concrete Walls
A. Unless otherwise indicated in the plan, all reinforcements shall be followed
according to schedule:
A. All mild steel reinforcements shall conform to ASTM 15.62 – 2T and deformation to
305.561 or latest versions.
B. Development length for all bars shall not exceed 40 times the bar diameter unless
otherwise specified.
