Problem reported by pilot


During a daily check performed by the pilot on June 28th 2014, he notice
that the left engine does not stop firing when the ignition switch is turned
off. The pilot report this problem immediately to maintenance team.

Troubleshooting
According to the aircraft maintenance manual Failure of engine to cease
firing after turning the magneto switch off is an indication of an open P-
lead to ground we have check the magneto P lead and we notice that the
lead resistance is found to be infinite. Thus indication of an open P lead
to ground. The P lead was damaged by the first mechanic during a 500
hour inspection performed on the engine a day before and he forgot to
change the lead.

Conclusions
After troubleshooting the engine according to the manufacturer
maintenance manual we come to the end that the problem was the open P-
lead to ground.
