Teaching Practice Task 2 – Monitoring the Learning

Program link: This task is associated to the guidelines of the course EPR 3023 – Teaching Methods for
the Primary School Teacher (Course learning outcomes 4 – Plan and implement appropriate modes of
assessment for primary mathematics teaching and learning)

Objective: Describe how you monitored the learning when the students were working on their
activities and identify the tools used to record your data. For each lesson you teach, you will describe
the tool that you use to monitor the work of the children. In the second column, you will describe how
you used that tool and you will reflect on how useful it was.

1 Individual Reward chart I create this reward chart for each students to
Lesson 1 monitor their learning and to manage the
students behavior by putting a star under their
pictures, this strategy help me a lot to manage
the students and keep them focus with me
during the lesson.

2 Checklist I used a checklist to monitor the student’s during


Lesson 2 activity time .The schedule include the student’s

names and I put a happy face near the


students name how answer the question
correctly and a bad face near their name if
they didn’t answer correctly. Using checklist help
me to know the students level and let me help
the students to get better understanding.
3 Classroom rules I use the classroom rules for each lesson to
Lesson 3 manage and monitor the students behavior
during the lesson and I keep remember them all
the time about the rules when they make noisy.
This strategy helps me to create a quiet and
positive classroom environment.

4 List of question For each lesson I put different questions for the
Lesson 4 students according to polya’s level and I ask the
students during the activities time to know if
they understand the lesson and that help the
students to make a better understanding.

5 Taking notes I design a schedule with the student’s name and


Lesson 5 I write some notes about the students such as
what they learn and they answer correctly or not
I use this schedule during the lesson to know
help the students with better understanding.
6 Group Reward chart I create this reward chart to manage the
Lesson 6 student’s behavior and it’s for the groups like
three butterfly color red for (low-level), blue for
(middle-level) and green for (high-level). This
charts help a lot when I manage the students
during the lesson and this chart keep them active
and engage more with me.
