STI Student Presentation:

As a part of your final, you will be presenting a complete Google Slides


presentation on an STI that will be randomly selected by you. After you have
selected your STD you may not change your group and you may not change
the STI.

Your presentation must use at least 3-4 scholarly sources in your presentation
and list your sources in the works cited portion at the end in APA format. See
APA format link on the class website for help. You can do your presentation
in pairs: Pick your partner wisely!! Both you and your partner must present
50% of the presentation each for full credit. You must present otherwise you
risk less than ½ credit.

Your presentation must feature the following slides for full credit:

1) Intro: STI, Name, Date, Period, picture

2) Detailed Clinical Vignette. Create an imaginary patient who


would have your chosen STI and write a vignette showing all the
signs/symptoms/ severity/ pain/ location, etc.

3) Causative agent: Bacteria, Virus, Fungus, Protozoa, etc) Provide


the scientific name of the organism and show a picture of the
organism.

4) Signs of this disease: in Males (Show Pictures)

5) Signs of this disease: in Females (Show Pictures)

6) Symptoms of this disease: in Males (Show Pictures)

7) Symptoms of this disease: in Females (Show Pictures)

8) How is this infection prevented? (i.e. does a condom help in


preventing this disease or does not always help. Explain)

9) Are certain populations at higher risk than others? (college


students, teenagers, transgender, polygamous relationships, etc.)
