THE WHITE SHARK

The white shark is the king of sharks, a super shark and the most fearsome aquatic carnivore,
since they are one of the largest, fierce and captivating aquatic animals on planet Earth. These
creatures have very extraordinary characteristics, such as size, anatomy, feeding, color and
habitat, as they are very special, very attractive and are in danger of extinction.

The white shark is one of the largest and most ferocious that exist because its anatomy is very
particular. So, let's start talking about its color; Although it is called a white shark, it is only white
or a light shade, below. The back has it dark gray. Both tones are joined along their sides forming
an irregular line that varies from one shark to another. For example, it can measure between 4.6
and 6 meters long, and weigh more than 2,300 kilograms. Secondly, its anatomy makes it an
excellent swimmer, since it can travel more than 25 kilometers per hour and its mouth can have
up to 300 triangular teeth arranged in several rows. In fact, it can detect a drop of blood in 100
liters of water and even detect small amounts of blood more than 5 miles away, that is, about 8
kilometers. On the other hand, the two lobes of its tail are practically symmetrical, which
differentiates them from other sharks whose fins are asymmetrical. The circulatory system of
the white shark differs significantly from that of most sharks. The temperature of their blood is
between 3 and 5 ºC above the water, which speeds up their digestion and gives them strength
and endurance. In general, the most distinctive features of the white shark are its huge conical
head, its black eyes with cold eyes and his mouth full of sharp triangular teeth with irregular
edges. Then, all these mentioned characteristics make it an excellent predator against other
aquatic animals of equal size.

This oviparous has a very special form of feeding. Therefore, the white shark is a predator that
eats it all. The technique used to hunt prey is "stalking". It hides underneath the dam to swim
vertically and surprise it without having a chance to react and defend itself. Due to the great bite
of the white shark, the prey dies by blood loss or decapitation. You can also break vital
appendages like fins. However, it also depends on where they live, this would change the other
types of creatures that will be around them to choose from. On the other hand, what the sharks
eat has evolved depending on what is offered so that they can survive. As we have said, sharks
adapt easily to their habitat, therefore, the number and variety of the food selection will
determine what a shark will eat in that place. Sharks may prefer certain types of foods, but when
they are scarce, adjust their diet to compensate. Although, when it is small, it feeds on fish and
rays, as an adult, it feeds on marine mammals, such as seals, lion cubs and sea elephants. As a
result, this oviparous has multiple sources of food depending on where you are.

This animal has a fairly wide distribution. They are capable of living in both cold and tropical
waters. Therefore, their developed metabolism allows them to stay warmer in the water,
although they can not withstand extreme temperatures. It is true that sometimes they are in
strange places, where by nature they should not be, but this obeys the needs of the sharks; since
if their natural habitat has been affected in some way, as for example, the lack of food, or
pollution of the environment, they will emigrate from it, to find another one with better
conditions. Although, they are found in oceans around the world, but especially in the temperate
coastal waters of North America, Cuba, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa,
England and the Cape Verde Islands and the Canary Islands, the south of Africa and the south
and west of Australia. In other words, the coasts of California offer an ideal habitat for white
sharks because of their fauna, depth and water temperature. Therefore, California has been the
scene of numerous shark attacks in humans, due to the high sport and tourist activity of its
beaches. Even so, this animal is one of the most wonderful for its abilities and its ferocity in the
water.

In conclusion the white shark is an oviparous designed to survive in waters of various parts of
the world and kill any prey with its enormous size and ferocious jaws using its great strategy of
stalking.
