 I will start by showing the students a song to warm
them up for the lesson.

 At the circle time I will ask them to tell me which
objects has a small \ medium and large objects in the
story.

Guided experience ( whole group activity ) language instructions

- I’ll start by reading (Surat Alfatiha) : Before we start the lesson we should read Quran.
- In the circle time before starting to read the story I will have a box that has some objects inside
with (small, medium and large size).
- I will tell the students (Can you come and guess what’s inside the box?)
- I will choose one student to come to put his hand in the box and guess what’s inside without
seeing the objects.
- When the students guess the objects I will tell them for example: (This object is big it has a large
size) and so on.

- Then I’ll start reading the story for them and I will ask them some questions while reading the
story.
- Finally, I’ll assess their understanding by doing the check list and by using the happy face chart.

They are used to it because they do it daily with the MST. They come and write their names on
the face that they think it represents their level of understanding.

Individual experience - Small Group Learning Centers: Time: Approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

Learning Center 1 Title: SORTING BUTTONS
There will be a basket that has small, medium, large buttons
and 3 jars with small medium and large tags on it. Students
have to think and use their fingers to pic up the buttons and
put them into the jars depending on their sizes. Then the
students will discuss with the teacher why they chose these
buttons for a certain jar.
Learning Center 2 Title: BULDING BLOCKS
There will be three sizes of blocks small, medium and large.
Children have to build a tower by putting the small blocks
first the medium blocks and large blocks. The teacher has to
give the children the freedom to build their towers
depending on their creativity and imagination.

Learning Center 3 Title: PLAYDOUGH Learning Center 4 Tittle: MATCHNG WORDS

I will provide the students with three colors of play dough.
The students have to create a big shape when having red-
colored play dough, a medium shape when having green play
dough and a small shape when having blue play dough. Each
student will get a color then they have to create objects with
big small and medium sizes depending on the color. They
must think and cooperate to help each other to do this
activity.
This activity will include some flash cards that has written
words and some pictures that will describe these words. The
students have to match these words with the correct
picture. I will help them to read\understand the meaning of
these words when I will read the story with them.

Closing activity: Time: 5-7 minutes

I will do a quick revision with the students by asking them some questions about the lesson.
Show them some flash cards that has big medium and small beds like the ones in the story.

Assessment for Learning:

-I will use a check list for a group of students
- For self assessment I will use the happy face chart that is in the class ( It has three faces depending on students level of understanding: I can
do it and I can help my friends, I can do it with help , I need help). Students will choose one of the faces depending on how they did the
activity.
