DSPACE – AN OPEN SOURCE DYNAMIC DIGITAL

REPOSITORY SOLUTION
Organizations and Institutions alike are right now grappling with an
important question: How to store e-documents for future use so that
they can be retrieved easily. Institutional Repositories have long been
a way of resolving this problem but a Repository that can safely store
all the data, arrange, categorize and help the institution retrieve that
for future use is hard to find.

Before choosing an Institutional Repository Software there are certain

factors that needs to be considered. Some of these factors are as
follows:

a. Metadata Scheme - Should be widely accepted

b. Easily discoverable content - Indexing both the metadata and
text
c. Long Term preservation of Content
d. Host all types of Digital Content
e. Follows Standards
f. Completely Customizable
g. Highly Scalable and Robust

However, a Revolutionary Digital Repository Platform that can help

Institutions and Organizations alike in storing their content is now at
their reach. DSpace – a Platform developed by a team of HP Labs and
MIT, is an answer to all the requirements of an Institution.

DSpace is the software of choice for academic, non-profit, and
