TARGET MARKET

A target market is an identified group of potential customers with similar needs and wants that
will most likely purchase services. Target markets are also known as a group of customers or
buyers that the organizations are trying to attract to use their service and buy their product. It is
important for our corner to identify target market so that they can evaluate thus predict the
number of actual and potential customers in the market that would actually use the service
offered by the corner since they will be the one who is going to generate the sales and
contribute to our business. Other than that, the importance of identifying the target market is so
that we can estimate and do an early estimation on weather our service is good enough to
compete with other competitors.

Geographic Segmentation

We have chosen Jeli for our business location based on a few aspects that has been considers
which infrastructures, the system transportation and the environment. Furthermore, the location
is strategic because our corner located middles of the Jeli. Our corner also easy to find because
it is located around UMK, MRSM and Politeknik, Sekolah Gemang, Sekolah Sains Jeli, Balai
Polis Jeli, Kem Askar, TNB, PPD Jeli and Primary and Secondary school in Jeli.

Demographic Segmentation

Demographic segmentation consists of dividing the market into groups based on variable such
as age; we target our customers age between 13 until 60 years old. Second income, all the
lower income groups are able to buy our food because the price is very cheap. Third
occupations, anyone can buy our product. Fourth race, all the race around in the Jeli.Our corner
is located at the Jeli where the people or customers come from different background and
lifestyle. This type of segmentation helps us to identify the trend that might shape future
spending patterns in the target market. There are a few characteristic of population that has
been identified as our target market. They have different background of education, income,
occupation.
Psychographic Segmentation

Psychographic segmentation divides the market into groups according to customer’s lifestyle.
Activities, interests and opinion (AIO) surveys are one tool for measuring lifestyle. The
customers are number of potential influences on buying behavior, including the attitudes,
expectations and activities of consumers. From our research, we identified that our target
market is people that come from all level income from both genders. As we know, we are
competing with other shops and corner in producing “Pisang Goreng Coklat”. So, our services
are different from others. These differences can attract customers to come to our corner.
MARKET SIZE

Sado’s Corner aimed to be one of the successful companies in the market that produce
delicious fried banana with chocolate syrups for affordable and cheapest price snacks that can
be enjoyed by all types of age people. The location that we choose is in Kelantan state at Jeli
area and the location is strategic because our corner located middles of the Jeli. Our corner also
easy to find because it is located around UMK, MRSM and Politeknik, Sekolah Gemang,
Sekolah Sains Jeli, Balai Polis Jeli, Kem Askar, TNB, PPD Jeli and Primary and Secondary
school in Jeli. There are two major market groups within the target area which is students and
families. The second group of potential customers are about 10, 000 students from all university
and other institutions that live 25 kilometers radius of Sado’s Corner. The second group in total
is 2000 families living in 2 kilometers radius area. The other customers target is from the
students of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan as well as Politeknik Jeli and the snacks will be place
inside the universities at cooperative shop.

The total population people in Jeli area about 42,872 people. For the 50% from total
population that estimated which is around 21, 436 people will buy the banana fried. Around 4
times quantity needed to produce by month so that it will be 85,744 because fried banana can
be consumed as a snack in the morning and afternoon. The average market price for our
product is RM4. The information gained through this survey state that Sado’s Corner can
concluded and estimated that market size to be RM342, 976 a month based on the purchase
made by the students and families
