Class Grade 5 Date 21-10-2018

Overall aim and context of the lesson:

• Students will be able to discover how earth revolution happen.

• Students will be able to differentiate between day and night length.

Select (S):
Lesson: How earth revolution happens and what happen to the length of the day and night.
Stander: The study of planet earth and its position in the universe.

Describe (D):
The lesson is for learners to have deeper understating about earth movement and how that can
affect the day and night. The lesson take place because students were able to tell the meaning of
revolution, the causes of revolution and how that can impact the day and night. I’m trying to
achieve how students can know what happen to day and night during the earth revolution.
Students first sow a video about earth revolution and they take notes about it to complete the two
columns in the KLW chart. Second, students did an exploration activity by using the globe and
the flash light and during that they must complete the observation sheet. Third, they did
worksheet about earth revolution that match their level of understanding. Finally, learners
complete the last columns in the KLW chart.
Analyze (A):
Learners exactly responses the way that I’m expected from them because they understand they
concept very carefully. Students were able to complete all the activities smoothly and answer all
my questions with their own justifications. In the beginning of the lesson I active student’s prior
knowledge by using the KLW chart which is what do you know about that topic. Also, I asked
learners some questions to see what they know and what they don’t know. Students were highly
engaged because they sow a video and they write to they know and what they want to learn.
Appraise (A):
Students have great experience because they enjoy using real materials which allow them to build
an image in their brain about how the earth revolution happen. According to the elaboration and
assessment part I understand that students achieved the learning objectives because they were
able to tell what they know by drawing, writing and answering the questions without any help.

Transform (T):
For further implementation, I think it will be better to use group work in the elaboration part and let
students use A3 paper to make a comparison between earth rotation and earth revolution. For my next
lesson, I would like to use more kinesthetic activities because the majority in the class they are kinthtatic
learners.
