Overall aim and context of the lesson

Students will be able to identify and analyze each part of the food chain (producers, primary
consumers, secondary consumers and decomposers).

Select (S):

 The lesson was about food chain and how each animal depends on other creature to
survive.
 Food chain shows a line of animals that eat each other (energy flow).
 Food chain is a never-ending cycle that repeats over.
Describe (D):
The lesson was about the food chain and how each animal depends on other creature to survive. I
started the lesson with PowerPoint of different animals who each other and I start asking students
some questions about the food chain After this part students start the cups activity by organizing
each part of the food chain in the correct order. Then we started doing the second activity which is
hands-on activity, creating a food chain cycle that starts with the sun and end with a decomposer.
However, started the assessment to assists by creating a poster in the group that contains all of the
parts of the food chain (producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, and decomposers).
Each group will have 5 different environments (ocean, desert, rainforest, snowy arctic land, and
African savanna).part which is making a poster. During this lesson, I tried my best to manage the
class by using the green point as a reward and giving students the chance to work in pairs to improve
communication skills.
Analyze (A):
I think that students responded because I was talking in a clear voice that attracts their attention,
using green points was a great technique to manage the classroom. However, I was trying to connect
the lesson to student’s prior knowledge so, I asked them about the human food chain and I got
different answers such as; Sun, Grass, Cow, Human, Decomposers such as; worm.
Appraise (A):

I think that I achieved the goals by giving students the ability to use their imagination during the
poster part, I also used a well-prepared questioning that engaged students and guided them during
the lesson. using specific instructions before each part in the lesson help in the classroom
management and achieving the learning objectives.
Transform (T):

I think that each student could make a quick presentation about the food chain, by using different
animals and environments such as; ocean, desert, African savanna, snowy arctic and rainforest This
may improve students the knowledge and give them the ability to explore the nature and think in a
creative way.
