Steps for Counting Money:

o Line up the coins from greatest value Quarter = 25 cents

to least (same types of coins go
together)
o Identify the value for each coin (see
coin pictures), and note that amount
on paper to make it easier to find
total
o Add up the total amount of all coins
(use skip count, hundred chart, pencil
and paper, or base ten blocks)
Half Dollar = 50 cents

Penny = 1 cent

Nickel = 5 cents

Dime = 10 cents
