T: what do you Know about the vowels?

T: vowels is a letter that we can sound it out in two different way and it is five letters which it is “U, A, E, I,
O”. This letters have two sounds we have long vowels and short vowels. How we can know the different
between them. We can know by say it and read it.
“A” Vowels have two sounds for example “A” in apple and cat. In apple the “A” is hard but in cat the “A” is
sort. The teacher will repeat the same thing with the other vowels for the students.
Who can give me some word that have v0wel letter and till me if it is sort or long?
Now after we learn about the vowel how can give me word end with “K” sound?
Time: 15 min
Milk and Black both end with the same sound. But why we write it in deferent way?
We write black in this way with “CK” in the end because it has a short sound vowel letter before the “K”
sound.

So the rule is whenever you have short sound vowel and “K” sound after it you write it “CK”.
Ok after we learn this thing today, now it is the activity time.
Active Engagement (group working with the teacher)
The teacher will ask the student some question during the teaching time. The teacher will give the student
the chance to try what she teach them by ask them for example or give them word and ask them to sort it
to the right place.
Independent Experience (small group activity 1)
The teacher will give the student cards for the word, picture, and “CK” and “K” in chart and she will
ask them t0 match the picture with the word then they have to sort it as “CK” or “K”.
The teacher will explain the activity by saying: in the chart there are two columns before you stick
anything on the chart you have to read the word and writer the ending of the word then you have to
put it in the right column.
Independent Experience(small group activity 2)
The teacher will give the student’s cards and clips the card will have words ends with “CK” or “K” and

picture for it. The students have to put the clip in the right end of the word and they have to think
about it first so they have to see if it has any vowels before it. So it will be “CK”.

The teacher will give the student two cards that have the short and the long vowels also small cards
that have words to sort it if it has sort or long vowel.
The teacher will say: so as we say in the beginning of the lesson that the vowel is (U, A, E, I, O) and it

Now after we learn about the vowel and we learn about the “CK” rule.
Assessment
The teacher will give the student card stick.
T: I will say a word and you have to raise the right end for it if it is “K” or “CK” and I might ask you why.
I make extra work sheet if some of the student finish what I ask them to do, I can give them the worksheet to do it. Or
I can give it to them as a home work.
