Student
a. What is being a teacher for you? What is the importance of teaching?
For me being a teacher is a job with a mission and at the same it is a profession. It
is a job because teachers are paid by the government, it is a mission because you as a
teacher is entrusted to teach learners or you have a given task to carry out. And
profession because teachers are required in an extensive education, they undergo
specialized training to strive to excellence. Being a teacher is considered as effective
classroom managers. One of the importance of teaching is it helps students to improve
their learning, acquire new knowledge and develop their talents.
b. Is it necessary for a teacher to have the personal, professional, and ethical
attributes of an educator? Why are these needed? What are the benefits of these
attributes?
Yes, these are needed because it has a great impact to the learners development
and learning. One of the benefits of these attributes is it serves as an ethical mentor,
providing guidance through discussion, storytelling, personal encouragement and
feedback. Teachers must not show favouritism or discriminate against students. It
builds rapport with students that makes it easier for them to talk about problems, be
receptive to moral guidance, and care about what their teachers think.
c. How will these attributes become positive influences to the learners?
Because they have a daily influence on the lives of children, teachers are often held
to high standards. In the midst of all their responsibilities, they’re required to serve a
strong role models and demonstrate ethical behaviours as they interact with students,
parents and others.
Through consistent us of positive words, actions and facial expressions teachers
provide students the hope to keep striving to learn and grow.
d. From the interview you had with your teacher, what have you learned about the
challenges a teacher is facing in the real field of teaching? What are these
challenges? How did the teacher cope up with these challenges?
Well at first its not that really easy to become a teacher, there are lot of challenges
you will encounter only we need to do is to deal with it because at the very first place
challenges are part of our lives. One of the challenges that she faced in the field of
teaching is about her students, most of them are non-readers and the behaviour of her
students, they keep on moving and very talkative inside the classroom. In coping with
these challenges she always asked the assistance or the help of the parents to always
measures and managed well her class to refrain from making non sense noise.
Another problem she encountered was the system of Department, there is always
changes like for instance the lesson planning. In coping with this problem she just
follow what is mandated to them by the Department. She just faced the problem and
think a solution and keep on teaching and do what is right to do.
e. If you will face the similar challenges when you become a teacher, what will you
do?
If I will face the similar challenges when I become a teacher I will do the same thing
to face all the problems or challenges in the field of teaching rather than to complain
and think a solution to it.
f. What important lesson/s did you learn based on your first activity where you
observed a teacher?
The important lessons I’ve learned based on our first activity wherein we observed a
teacher is that we must put our very long patience inside the classroom because most
students now are talkative and they keep on moving. You must be firm on disciplining
your students and you should know how to manage your class very well so that they
will be able to participate.
g. What important lesson/s did you learn based on your interview with an
elementary teacher?
One of the lessons I’ve learned based on the interview we’ve done with a teacher,
teaching is not just teaching your lessons daily but it also include the discipline that we
should impart to our children inside the classroom so that they will be able to apply it
outside or when they go home. We don’t have the right to complain through the
problems we will encounter we just need to face it and think a solution to it.
