Gal. 3:18-26 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more
of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of
transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise
was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a
mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God
is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? God
forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have
given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise
by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But
before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto
the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the
law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we
might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are
no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of
God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gen. 18:11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well
stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the
manner of women.
Isa. 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that
inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high
and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble
spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart
of the contrite ones.
2 Chron. 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and
turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and
will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Isa. 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the
earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I
the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and
him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
