Application, Requirements

Auto assemble insert to battery terminal. Insert is to be

properly oriented. Press insert flush into terminal. Produc-
tion rate 3.5 seconds. Unattended running time 2 hours
minimum. Verify presence of components, as well as
proper press depth.

Concept Description
This assembly machine is based around a 6 station index
system and consists of the following stations:

Station 1 - Automatically feed insert to nest via feeder

bowl and transfer to nest via pick & place unit
Station 2 - Insert properly seated verification
Station 3 - Automatically feed terminal to nest via feeder
bowl and transfer onto insert via pick & place
unit
Station 4 - Terminal properly seated verification
Station 5 - Pneumatic press with stroke completion sensor
Station 6 - Part unload via pneumatic pick & place onto
conveyor & transfered to a customer provided Equipment, Performance
part bin
