The Olivetree Review

Visual Art Submission Contract

The Olivetree Review endeavors to publish original works of visual art (photography, drawings, ceramics,
sculptures, paintings, etchings, digital art, etc.) representative of the creative diversity at Hunter College. We
welcome submissions from the Hunter College undergraduate community.

Visual Art Submission Guidelines

1. Art submissions will not be accepted in hard copy! Please submit only in an electronic form, as this is for
your convenience and ours. Please take a picture of all paintings, sculptures, darkroom photography, drawings etc.
Regarding digital art, images should be in standard TIFF (preferred) or JPEG format with a minimum resolution of
300 DPI to be considered for publication (keep this in mind especially when scanning. We cannot adjust the
resolution for you on a low-quality scan). All submissions must be submitted on a CD-ROM labeled with your
name, address, contact information and date of submission printed on the disk. Your CD-ROM must be
accompanied by a signed submission contract.
2. All work is critiqued fairly and anonymously by student editors.
3. Unsigned contracts will not be accepted.

The Olivetree Review will not assume liability for work that is not accompanied by a signed submission contract. This contract grants The Olivetree Review the usage of
your accepted creative work for use in one issue of our printed publication and for our website. You hereby acknowledge every issue can be delayed due to unforeseen
circumstances. In addition, you are acknowledging that you understand The Olivetree Review democratically decides what material is fit to print; is staffed by students like
you; and that you can choose to have a say in the process by becoming involved. You also acknowledge that if a piece of art is accepted but does not meet the specified
production quality suitable for printing, we have the right to rescind or postpone its acceptance.
