Dying Man Wanted to Eat His Favourite Pizza

for a dying man
more than 200
miles away, over
two decades after
he and his family
last lived in Battle Creek and
counted themselves among
the store's loyal customers.
As recalled by the Battle Creek
Enquirer, Rich and Julie Morgan of
Indianapolis were Battle Creek
residents over two decades ago,
spending two years in the Michigan
city and becoming fans of Steve's
Pizza, which Julie described as the
“best” the family had ever tasted.
Originally, the idea was to celebrate
Julie's 56th birthday in September
by returning to Steve's Pizza, but
with Rich Morgan's salivary gland
cancer leaving him in the intensive
care unit with only “days, [or] maybe
weeks” to live, the couple's plans
changed, as they had no choice but
to remain in Indianapolis.
On Saturday evening, Julie
Morgan's father, David Dalke,
placed a call to Steve's Pizza and

soon took to Facebook to share the
story of how a teenager working at
Steve Pizza went out of his way to
deliver the “best pizza in the world.”

Radioactive, but… 'safe'? Japan to dump Fukushima

Japanese government is
preparing to release it into
the Pacific Ocean – despite
the presence of radioactive
elements.
Currently, 1.09 million tons of
contaminated water is stored in 900
tanks near the Dai-Ichi nuclear
plant, which suffered a catastrophic
release of fuel following an
earthquake and tsunami in March
2011.
The government claims that
radioactive material is being
reduced to non-detectable levels
through the Advanced Liquid
Processing System procedure, but
there is evidence that this process
does not remove many radioactive
elements, including antimony,
cobalt, iodine, rhodium, ruthenium,

DenPost reports that the traditional
head (Bendesa) of the Village of
Kuta, Wayan Wasista, has issued an
ultimatum to the management of the
Anvaya Hotel to urgently clarify the
status of contract workers by
elevating them to permanent staff as
stipulated by the law.
The ultimatum was delivered in a
meeting with the hotel's
management held on Monday,
October 22, 2018. Without
specifically addressing contract
issues with its staff, a

said the promotion of
contract workers to
permanent staff status
was a matter left for the
exclusive purview of the
C o m p a n y ' s
management in Jakarta.
Wasista's strong threat
follows reports from
Kuta residents working
at the Anvaya Hotel who
have complained that
the property's
management was
violating national labor
rules in a number of
areas. For instance,
current labor rules state that after
the end of a contract period, contract
workers must either be elevated to
permanent employees or left
unemployed for a minimum of 30
days before signing a new work
contract.

“The intention of 'masa jeda' in

and used in the employment of staff
at the Hotel Anvaya. This is not

The Manpower official explained

When the subject employee
continues to work after the end of
the original contract period and an
additional contract period of one
year he or she is ipso facto becomes

this context clarification and open
confirmation from company

that the management of Hotel
Anvaya would clarify the situation
and their decision in accordance
with the existing law.

deny that the Hotel had

"At the time I was very angry, it was
very unexpected.
"I lost all possibilities because I lost
the first group then I lost a lot of time
with Miller trying to overtake him.

try to be more aggressive."

"I started the race with a really
strong feeling, we had really
good potential to try to win the

with high speed - I lost four or
five positions," said Iannone.
"I tried to recover but I felt the
tyres start to drop a little bit more
than I expected so I decided to
remain in this group [with Dovizioso,
Rossi and Bautista]. I controlled the
tyres the best [I could].
"I had a little bit more on the last four
laps I tried to push at 100%. I
improved, but on the last lap I
arrived another time at corner four
and made a mistake."
However, to be totally safe and
avoid any chance of a rival
lodging a post-race complaint,
Mercedes steered clearing of
running them again.
The FIA is now likely to issue a
technical directive ahead of the
Brazilian Grand Prix to help
clear up the matter.
Wolff said the Mexico
performance was not out of the
ordinary for a campaign where
the team had sometimes
struggled, but had been often
helped by Hamilton's driving
brilliance.
"He has been the differentiator,"
added Wolff. "Our car was the fastest
at times, then not the fastest at other
times. Sometimes it was an F3 car,
like today [in Mexico].
"I don't think we had one single lap
where we actually switched the tyre
on. I don't think our car drove the tyre.
“And I have no explanation. We will be
asking for explanation because these
swings are just difficult."

THE Mexican Grand Prix was the straw that finally
broke the camel's back for Daniel Ricciardo as, after
a heart-shattering eighth retirement of the season,
he launched an astonishing rant on his car.
The 29-year-old offered his Red Bull replacement
Pierre Gasly to take his seat early, claiming he was
“done with it”, before calling the car “bulls***”.
“You know, honestly, now where I am, I don't see
the point of coming on Sunday, I don't see the point
of doing the next two races,” he said.
“I haven't had a clean race or weekend in so long. I'm
not superstitious or any of this b*******, but... the car's
cursed. I don't have any more words. I'll let Gasly drive it,
I'm done with it.”
However, while the most obvious reason for Ricciardo
wanted out of Red Bull early is because of the dreadful
reliability of his car – this time giving up on him with 10
laps to go when he was on course for a podium finish – a
look at the rest of the field actually paints an optimistic
picture for his future.

Red Bull, with their Renault engine, dominated the
weekend in Mexico. They locked out the front of
the grid in qualifying and were on course for a
podium one-two, as well.
Somewhat more positively, Renault actually put in
a great performance as well. Carlos Sainz was the
third fastest in practice (behind the Red Bulls) and
he and Nico Hulkenburg threatened to challenge
Ferrari and Mercedes in qualifying before finishing
seventh and eighth.
And while this may have been overlooked initially
by a furious Ricciardo, the acknowledgment of a
fine weekend by the Renault engines came from
perhaps the most unlikely of places – Red Bull
team principle Christian Horner.
Horner is locked in a bitter public divorce with
Renault as Red Bull prepare to move ahead with
Honda power from next year after a season of
reliabilities issues and ongoing performance
shortcomings compared to Ferrari and Mercedes.
“Credit where credit's due,” Horner told autosport.
“Renault have provided us with an engine this
weekend in these conditions that is competitive
with our opponents.
“That's enabled us to go head-to-head, lock out
the front row of the grid and win the grand prix in a
dominant fashion. Theoretically we should have a
one-two here.
“The altitude of this circuit does constrain some of
our rivals and it puts Renault into a window where
they are competitive which is why we put an awful
lot of focus into this race in taking the penalties to
get another B-Spec into the pool, to have for this
weekend.”
Ricciardo has recently been warned by some
inside Red Bull that his move to Renault will only
see him become more frustrated with the engine
and regularly get him bogged down in midfield
shenanigans, but Mexico showed that may not
necessarily be the case.It may even be enough to
bring back Ricciardo's estranged trademark smile,
which has deserted him on a grand prix Sunday
recently.
