1. heavily dependent on remittances(29.1%),
2. Affected by the constant change in political scenario,
3. agricultural economy ,
4. Poorest and least developed countries in the world,
5. Nepal's per capita income crosses 1,000 USD in 2017-18
fiscal year
Problems
Exports: $818.7 million f.o.b., but does not include unrecorded border trade with
India (2017 est.)

Exports - commodities: carpets, clothing, leather goods, jute goods, grain

Exports - partners: India 56.6%, US 11.5%, Turkey 4% (2016 est.)

Imports: $11.03 billion f.o.b. (2017 est.)

Imports - commodities: gold, machinery and equipment, petroleum products,


electrical goods, medicine

Imports - partners: India 70.1%, China 10.3%, UAE 2.6%, Singapore 2.1%, Saudi
Arabia 1.2%. (2016 est.)

We have less skilled manpower and most of the are going
Skilled Manpower: abroad. The is virtually no skill manpower left in the country who
can contribute for country’s economic development.
Challenges
Political Instability: Every one of us know how
unstable Nepalese politics is and I need not explain.
Natural Resources Utilization
Energy Crisis:

It most be the biggest of all as Nepal can’t provide energy which is


fundamental requirement for every economic activities. Unless the
stabilized energy supply can be maintained, economic development is so
hard to achieve.
