Confirm that the UI icon which indicates “HDD trouble” is displayed. Use SIM62-20 to confirm the HDD
status to determine which HDD is in trouble:-
If HDD1 is in trouble, replace the HDD of the mirroring kit.
If HDD2 is in trouble, replace the HDD of the machine.
Power off the MFP device (Primary power switch).

WHEN REPLACING THE MIRRORING KIT HDD ONLY:-

1. Using a new HDD unit from Service Spare Parts, replace the Mirroring Kit HDD.

2. Power on / Boot the MFP device:- Rebuilding is automatically executed.

3. Check that E7-03 trouble does not occur, and the UI icon which indicates rebuilding of the
mirroring kit is displayed. Use SIM 62-20 to confirm the status of the replaced HDD is displayed
as REBUILDING.
Note: It may take approx. three hours to complete HDD “rebuilding”.

4. Once REBUILDING is complete, use SIM62-20 to confirm that the HDD status is displayed as
HDD1/HDD2=OK/OK.

WHEN REPLACING BOTH THE MIRRORING KIT AND MACHINE HDDs TOGETHER:-

1. Using a new HDD units from Service Spare Parts, replace both HDD's (and RAID PWB if required).

2. Set DIPSW1 of the mirroring kit to ON:-

3. Power on the MFP device - Forcible rebuilding is executed.

Caution:

• When replacing the HDD for the mirroring kit, ensure to use a new HDD unit.
• If an HDD that has been previously used for a mirroring kit is used to replace a HDD, the
operations and the data cannot be assured and E7-A5 trouble may occur.
• If an HDD that has been previously used for a mirroring kit is installed, the original data may be
erased.
• When removing the HDD after installing the mirroring kit, be sure to remove both HDD's
together.
• If only one HDD is removed and then reinstalled, the data of both HDD's may
not be identical, causing an error.
• When removing the HDD for maintenance reasons only, disconnect the HDD SATA connector of
the MFP PWB first, and then perform the required maintenance. With this procedure, both
HDD's are disconnected from the machine.
