Al Amaan qher heh ae Ghous wo teekha tera
Mar keh bhi chain seh sota nahin maaraa tera

Explanation:
Al Amaan - the safety of Allah (azza wa jall) or may Allah (azza wa jall) protect us.
Qher - overpower, anger, wrath.
Teekha – swift, effective.

Summary:
O Ghous Paak! May Allah (azza wa jall) protect us from your anger and wrath because
that person whom you are angry with, even after death, that person will still not get peace!
The great Saint is a reflection of the Divine Wrath of Allah (azza wa jall). It is said that at
one point, his anger and wrath was to such a degree that whenever someone took his
name or addressed him without Wudu, that person immediately suffered from Divine
retribution. However, later in life, this was lifted and decreased.

This can be gleamed from the following incident. One day, while he was lecturing to
hundreds of people, it began to rain. People began to disperse due to this and in anger,
the great Saint looked at the cloud and declared, “I am trying to gather the people and you
are dispersing them.” It is said that the rain immediately stopped.

One day, a scorpion appeared in his house, when he saw this, he declared, “O dangerous

animal die!” It immediately died in front of him. When he saw this, he became concerned
and gave his servant one of his belonging to sell and give the money away as charity and
for a long time after that, he kept reading the Istighfaar.

Someone once asked him the meaning of a Wali, he replied, “A Wali is that person who if
he says something to die, it will die.” At that moment, an eagle was flying past and it fell
dead at his feet. He then looked at it and declared, “I did not address you.” He then
continued, “A Wali of Allah (azza wa jall) is also that person if he says something to come
alive, it will come alive.” Suddenly the eagle came alive and flew away!

Once during his lecture, an eagle flew overhead and was making a loud sound while
people were listening intently to the lecture. He then declared, “O Wind! grab hold of its
head” Suddenly the eagle fell at his feet headless. He then approached the eagle and
after reciting the Bismillah, he passed his blessed hands over this eagle.

The eagle again came alive by the command of Allah and in front of everyone, it flew
away.
(Hayaatul Haywaan Vol. 1, p. 140)

Another leader of those who oppose saying “Ya Ghous” namely Anwar Shah Kashmeri in
his book Fayzul Bari a commentary of Bukhari shareef, admits that, “It is permissible to
say “Ya Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani Shay an lillah.”

In the same way, Rashid Ahmed Gangohi and Ashraf Ali Thanwi in Fatawah Rasheediya
and Imdaadul Fatawah respectively have both said that this wazeefah is permissible. As
a matter of fact, this same Ashraf Ali was also in the habit of seeking help from Rashid
Gangohi. In Tazkiratur Rasheed, he is reported to have said, “O my Sayyid! (meaning
Rashid Gangohi), please give me something, you are able to give me something and I am
seeking from you.” This same Ashraf Ali in his Dawat-e-Abdiyat again says that, “One
cannot refute the attention of the Saints, without doubt, with their attention (on someone),
one can achieve many things.” A leader of the Ahle Hadith, namely Nawab Hasan Phopali
says that, “The spiritual blessing of Hadrat Ghous Paak because he is on the position of
Qutbiyat Uzmah (the supreme Qutub), is prevalent in everything hidden and apparent and
upon man and jinn”.
(Maqalaate-Ihsaan).

After presenting all of this from the books of those who openly refute the status of Hadrat
Ghous Paak until today, what can we further say?

Baa dilo seh rukti heh kirkati bijli
dha haale chant jaati he ut thata heh taygha tera

Explanation:
Kirkati bijli - That lighting which has a terrifying sound
Dha haal - shield
Chanti -to cut or severe.
Taygha - small sword.

O Ghous Paak! Without doubt, those people who are jealous of you and are your enemies,
in reality, they are weak and weak in heart. Even if they are threatened by a small sword
of yours, they would not be able to cope with this also. Their weak shields would break
into pieces. As a matter of fact, their attack is like a mere cloud which makes a sound,
while your sword is like a mighty rain. If this is the state of your small sword, what must be
the state of your real attack or your large sword.

Allamah Abdul Qadir Arbali (rehmatullah alaihi) narrates that once a lady who was a
mureed of the great Saint was travelling through a mountainous area when a person
wanted to attack her. This female immediately called out to the great Saint in the following
words:

“Al Ghiyaas Ya Ghousal Azam, Al Ghiyaas Ya Ghousas Saqalain, Al Ghiyaas Ya

Mohyudeen, Al Ghiyaas Ya Sayyidi Abdul Qadir”.
At that moment, the great Saint was making Wudu. He immediately picked up his sandals
and threw it towards the direction of the mountain. At that precise moment:

‫ات‬ ِ ْ ‫َو َص َل ال َّن ْع ََل ِن الِٰی َراْس ِٖہ َو َص َارا َی‬

َ ‫ْضبَا ِن َرا َْس ٗہ َحت ّٰی َم‬
The sandals landed on the head of the attacker and began to rain down on his head to
such a degree that he died on the spot.
(Tafreehul Khaatir).

Aks ka dhek keh muh aur bhe par jaata heh.
Char aa’inah keh bal ka nahin nezah tera.

Explanation:
Aks - shadow or a reflection.
Bhe par na - to become angry.
Char aa’inah - a coat of armour.
Bal - strength.

Summary:
O Ghous Paak! When an enemy comes in front of you as an opposition, then your lance
or spear is able to attack with such severity, that even the most secure of armour cannot
cope with this and is broken into pieces.

Many Awliya have explained some of the miracles attached to only his names and titles.
It is said that his name is a very potent weapon against Jinnaat as well and to protect
oneself against their attack. In Qalaaidul Jawaahir, it is mentioned that once a person
called some Jinns through some spiritual reading and they delayed coming to him. When
they finally arrived, this person asked them the reason for their delay. They replied that
when they are in the blessed company of Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu), he should
not call them. When he asked them whether they also attended his blessed gathering,
they replied:

“More of us attend his gathering than even humans and many Jinns have sought
repentance at his blessed hands.”

It is mentioned that one of the Jinns who heard the Quran and accepted Islam in the valley
of Nakhlah during the time of the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam) and are
mentioned in Surah Jinn and Surah Ahqaaf, one jinn amongst them also had the
opportunity of meeting the great Saint once.
(Qalaaidul Jawaahir).

Once a young daughter of his mureed was taken away by a Jinn while she slept on the

4

roof. When this person asked the great Saint for help, he immediately instructed the King
of the Jinns to return this young girl and to also punish the perpetrator. When this mureed
delivered the message of the great Saint to the Jinns, they all stood up in respect and not
only returned his daughter, but also beheaded this Jinn who had committed this crime. It
is said that this Jinn lived in China.
(Safeenatul Awliya - Khazeenatul Asfiyah).

Ko heh sar mukh ho to ik waar me do par kaa leh
Haat par ta hi nahin bhol keh ucha tera

Explanation:
Ko heh - mountain and could also mean a powerful and mischievous Jinn.
Sar mukh - equal to a strand of hair. It is a Hindi word.
Waar - loss.
Do par kaa leh - two pieces.
Bhol keh - unintentionally.

Summary:
O Hadrat Ghous Paak! Even if a powerful Jinn as powerful as a mountain challenges you,
in one blow, you would make that entity into two pieces. It could also mean that even
something as powerful as a mountain could be defeated by the great saint with something
as little as a strand of hair.

Another story in this regard is mentioned about an Islamic scholar in Baghdad shareef
who killed a snake one day without realizing that it was the son of the King of Jinns.
Obviously, this person thought it was a harmful snake and had every right to have it killed.
He did not realize though that it was in fact a Jinn in the guise of a snake. This scholar
was then brought in front of the King of Jinns and he was ordered to be beheaded.
At that moment, this scholar who was also a mureed of the great Saint silently
remembered his great Shaikh. Suddenly a bright light appeared from nowhere and
declared to these Jinns that this scholar was the mureed of the great Saint and that if they
killed him, there would be severe consequences for them. This unintentional killing of the
King’s son was then pardoned out of respect for Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu).
As a matter of fact, so much of respect was then shown to this Islamic scholar that he was
requested to actually perform the Janaza salah of this Jinn and to then make Dua for the
deceased Jinn. This scholar was then given a special gown as a gift and when he returned,
his students were surprised at this.
(Tafreehul Khaatir).

Explanation:
Qher - oppression.
Ghataa deh - lower.
Payaa - state and rank.

Summary:
O Hadrat Ghous Paak! Those who wish and those who strive to lower your dignity, state
and rank, this in itself becomes a calamity for them. It must be remembered that this state
and rank given to the Awliya is something which has been given to them by the Almighty
(azza wa jall), hence, disrespecting them and trying to lower their esteem and status, is
actually fighting against the Almighty (azza wa jall). This is the reason why the Almighty
(azza wa jall) has declared that:

ْ َ ‫َم ْن َعا ٰدی ل ِ ْی َول ِ ًّیا َف َق ْد ٰا َذن ْ ُت ٗہ بِا ْل‬

Explanation:
Laraa’i - to fight
Ghataa eh- to lower
Useh - Allah (azza wa jall).
Manzur - purpose and intent.
Bar haana - to raise or to elevate.

O Ghous Paak! If these enemies of yours had a little intelligence or something which could

be described as intelligence, they would not try to lower your status and dignity and
thereby actually start a war with the Almighty (azza wa jall)! The reason is that they wish
to lower the great Saint and yet the Almighty (azza wa jall) intends to elevate his status,
therefore, in essence, this has become a war between the attackers of the great Saint and
the Almighty (azza wa jall)!

Many such idiots have died whose final moments were a lesson for those around them.
Sometimes, this person’s face became disfigured, he lost his legs mysteriously and
recently there was another individual who died in Dubai and whose features also changed
just before death. As a matter of fact, it did not matter how much of Attar, they put on him,
they could still not hide the foul stench coming from him.

Explanation:
Sayaah - reflection or shadow.
Bool and balaa - eminent praise.
Summary:
O Hadrat Ghous Paak! The Almighty (azza wa jall) has indeed elevated and raised the
zikr of his beloved Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam) and since you are the reflection
of his Prophetic mercy and because you are following in his blessed footsteps, through
the wasila of the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam) your status, rank and respect
has also been raised and elevated.

It is reported that once the great Saint presented himself in front of the Jaali Mubaarak
and read out a few couplets which meant, “Before this, my soul used to arrive and present
my greetings. Today, however, I am physically present. Please reveal your blessed hand
so that I could bless myself with kissing it.” Suddenly, the blessed hand of the Holy Prophet
(salal laahu alaihi wa sallam) was seen by everyone. The great Saint then kissed the
blessed hand and placed the blessed hand over his head. Other great saints in Islam have
also been blessed in this manner such as Imam Azam, Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafi,
Imam Syed Ahmed Rifaa’i (radi Allahu anhum) and also recently, the great Mujaddid, Imam
Ahmed Raza (radi Allahu anhu).

Explanation:
Mit jaa na - finish, become extinct or to be destroyed.
‘Adaa - enemies
Char cha - fame or publicity.

Summary:
O Ghous Paak! In every generation and era, your enemies have become dishonoured and
disgraced. However, your fame and greatness has always increased and spread far and
wide and become like a bright sun on the horizon of Wilaayat or Sainthood. There are
many people who read this couplet in praise of the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa
sallam) and rightly so, however, it must also be understood that praising the great Saint
with such words as well, is also praising his beloved grandfather (salal laahu alaihi wa
sallam). It must also be understood that all the greatness of the great Saint is through the
wasila of the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam).

The famous story is mentioned in Akhbaarul Akhyaar where the blessed saliva of the Holy
Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam) and thereafter the blessed saliva of the Hadrat
Sayyiduna Ali (radi Allahu anhu) was placed on his tongue and it was only after this, that
he began to reveal the ocean of knowledge which was hidden within him. In each
gathering, over seventy thousand people attended. (Bear in mind that there was no high
tech sound system in those days, yet, everyone personally heard his every word).

Even those outside Baghdad shareef drew a circle around them and made their mureeds
and followers sit within this circle and they also heard the lecture of the great Saint. If one
remembers the Hadith-e-Qudsi mentioned earlier where it is explained that the Almighty
(azza wa jall) becomes the Power through which they speak, through which they walk,
through which they touch, through which they listen etc. It becomes easier to understand
how this great Saint was able to speak to so many people all at once. Perhaps this is the
reason why the TV and other satellite instruments have been created by man. Maybe it is
to teach people a lesson that if these man-made objects could broadcast at once to so
many millions of people around the world, imagine the power of those who are blessed
by the Almighty (azza wa jall)! It is mentioned that over five thousand Christians made
Taubah at his hands and over a hundred thousand people sought repentance for their evil
ways at his blessed hands.
(Qalaaidul Jawaahir, Akhbaarul Akhyaar).

Even a sceptic like ibn Jouzi used to go into spiritual ecstasy when listening to the great

Saint.
(Bahjatul Asraar).

Barhaanah - to increase.

Summary:
O King of the Awliya! No matter how much a person may try to lower and decrease your
status and rank, he will fall down on his face in hopelessness because every day, the
Almighty (azza wa jall) continues to increase and elevate your status, respect and position.
The founders of each spiritual silsilah or spiritual order were leaders of their own specific
silsilah, yet, Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu) is the leader of all silsilahs and through
him, all silsilahs receive their spiritual blessing. We notice that everywhere in the world,
the celebration of Giyaarwi shareef continues to increase day by day which is proof that
the great Saint and his remembrance is increasing on a daily basis.

The Qaderi silsilah

The great Saint has given surety that whosoever is his mureed until the day of judgement
that they will never pass away without making Taubah for their sins.
(Qalaaidul Jawaahir, Akhbaarul Akhyaar).
In Qalaaidul Jawaahir, it is mentioned by Shaikh Ali bin Hayti (rehmatullah alaihi) that, “No
mureed of any spiritual leader can ever be like the mureed of Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi
Allahu anhu)”.
The great Saint has also declared that, “Until the day of Judgement, whichever of my
friends, my mureeds and my beloved make mistakes, I will hold him by his hand”.
(Qalaaidul Jawaahir).

Ae - a word which signifies sadness and shock
Leka - destiny

Summary:

Explanation:
Siyyaaf - swordsman.
Khanjar - large dagger.
Baak - fear.
Chir kar - tear open.
Kalijah - heart.

Summary:
O the enemies of Hadrat Ghous Paak! Outwardly, it looks to you like there is no danger to
you in going against Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu). However, if only someone
could tear open your hearts and look at it, they would be able to see how black and torn
apart with fear it is.

This couplet is an explanation of the statement of the great Saint where he has declared,
“I am a skilled swordsman, able to destroy those who oppose me and able to change the
inner condition (of someone)”. It is reported that once nearly a hundred jurists approached
the great Saint to question him on various aspects of Shariah. He then lowered his head
and suddenly a bright light appeared from his chest and then entering the chest of each

10

scholar present, immediately removed whatever knowledge they possessed. They all
began to weep and then threw away their turbans and tore open their clothes. The great
Saint then sat on his position of authority and whatever questions or queries they had, he
answered each one of them without them revealing a single thing! They had no option but
to accept wholeheartedly the amazing status of the great Saint.
(Tabqaat-e-Kubra- Jamia Karamaat-e-Awliya, Shaikh Nabhaani).

Imam She’raani (rehmatullah alaihi) explains that, “When the Islamic verdict, (Fatawah) of
the great Saint was placed in front of the Ulama of Iraq, they became extremely amazed
at his vast ocean of knowledge. They used to also declare, “Glory be to Allah (azza wa
jall) who has blessed you such knowledge.”
(Tabqaat-e-Kubra).

Once a person took an oath that if he could not perform such a special form of Ibaadah
which no one in the world was performing at that moment, then his wife would be given a
divorce. The Ulama could not answer this and when this was brought to the attention of
the great Saint, he calmly replied, “Clear the area where the people make tawaf around
the Kaba and allow this person to make tawaf alone. In this manner, his marriage would
be saved and his oath would be fulfilled”.
(Akhbaarul Akhyaar)

The great Saint also taught students and issued Fatawah for nearly thirty three years.
(Akhbaarul Akhyaar, Qalaaidul Jawaahir).

Ibn - son
Zahra - The title of the beloved daughter of the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam)
namely Sayyidah Fatimah (radi Allahu anha). Since the great Saint is a Hasani and
Husaini Sayed, hence he is referred to as ibn Zahra.
Zehr - hatred and enmity.
Bal beh - signifies surprise. In other words, such self conceit and pride.
Au - a word signifying calling to someone with contempt.
Munkir - a person who refutes.
Beh baak - without fear.
Zuhra - strength, bravery.

O those who refute the greatness of my master, Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu)! You have
no knowledge that he is indeed the light of the eye of Sayyidah Faatimah (radi Allahu

your heart for the great Saint? Indeed you must be very brave? In summary, if certain
disbelievers in spite of having seen the miracles at the hands of the Holy Prophet (salal
laahu alaihi wa sallam) still did not believe in him, yet, after knowing that this great Saint
is a Hasani and Husaini Sayed and amazing miracles appeared through his hands, you
still do not believe in him, it is indeed a tragedy and surprise!

Baaz ash hab ki ghulaami seh yeh aankheh pherni
Dekh ur jaa’e gha Imaan ka tuta tera.

Explanation:
Baaz ash hab - a falcon. In other words, the great Saint is able to travel through the various
spiritual dimensions and Divine secrets faster than a royal falcon.
Aankhe pherni - to turn away ones attention or to give up.
Dhek - beware, pay attention.
Imaan ka tuta urna - to become faithless.

O those who refute the status of the great Saint, if you do not acknowledge his greatness
and immense status, then you should say goodbye to your Imaan. (The reason is that this
lofty position of the great Saint has been given to him by Almighty (azza wa jall) and that
person who does not respect and accept this, has certainly challenged the Almighty (azza
wa jall) to a war which obviously he would surely lose. As for those who have understood
and accepted this secret, they have gained for themselves a very great status and have
continued to sing the praises of the great Saint.

Even a person like Einstein has accepted that the distance to some of the galaxies are
calculated in light years and it would take a person hundreds of years to travel from one
to another. Yet, the great Saint looks at all of this as you look at a seed in the palm of your
hand! He has declared that, “I am able to see the cities (or creation) of Allah (azza wa jall)
like a small seed”. The story of Nabi Sulayman (alaihis salaam) being able to hear the
conversation of the ants which appears in the Quran is proof that the special servants of
Allah (azza wa jall) have certainly been given super powers indeed.

Summary:
O that person who refuses to accept the greatness of Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu

of Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu)! Even today, there are certain so called “peers”
or so called “spiritual masters” who openly defy that the foot of the great Saint is on the
neck of all the Awliya.

anhu)! You wish to make yourself look good in front of people? Yet, due to your dislike and
hidden enmity for the great Saint, you have already become dishonoured and disgraced.
In no way, will you look respected in any era. You disguise yourself in religious clothing
and yet this is your hidden evil plotting which I am well aware of. Imam Abdullah Yaafi

(rehmatullah alaihi) has stated that, “Whichever unfortunate person has enmity for a Wali
of Allah, it is our experience that, that person’s end, (final moment of his life), will not be
good.”
(Roudur Riyaaheen).

The different categories of Awliya.

There are twelve categories of the Awliya whether they are visible to people or hidden
from the people. They are:

1. Aqtaab - In every generation throughout the world, the highest rank is called
Qutub. He is also known as Qutb-e-Aalam, Qutb-e-Kubra, Qutb-e-Irshaad, Qutb-
e-Madaar, Qutbul Aqtaab etc.

2. Ghous - Some are of the opinion that both Qutb and Ghous refers to the same
person or position. Some others have said that there is a difference in these
positions. However, these positions can be found in one single person.

3. Amaa maan - The Qutbul Aqtaab has two advisers or ministers. The minister on
the right hand is called Abdul Malik and the one of the left side is called Abdur
Rabb.

4. Awtaad - They are four in total and are positioned in four different areas or
dimensions. The Wali in the West is called Abdul Wadood. The Wali in the East is
called Abdur Rahman. The Wali in the South is called Abdur Raheem and in the
North, he is called Abdul Quddoos. The word Awtaad is the plural for the word
“Watad” which signifies a nail or a spike. They are present for the stability of the
universe, this is their duty. In like manner, the Almighty (azza wa jall) has also
referred to the mountains as spikes which stabilizes the earth.

5. Abdaal - In every one of the seven dominion, they are to be found. They are similar
to seven different Prophets in outlook. They assist people spiritually and besides
them, there are also three hundred and fifty other Abdaals who are present.

6. Akhyaar - From the three hundred and fifty Abdaals, these seven who are called
Abraar are always moving and are never at one place.

7. Abraar - From these numbers also, forty of them are known as Abraar.

8. Nuqaba - They are three hundred in number and all of their names are “Ali”.

9. Nujaba - They are seventy in number and mostly live in Egypt or the surrounding
area of Egypt. All of their names are “Hasan”.

14
www.musjidulhaq.com
10. Amad - They are four in number and all of their names are “Muhammad”. They
live in various parts of the world.

11. Maktumaan - They are four thousand in number. They recognize each other but
are sometimes deliberately made not to recognize their own spiritual status.

12. Mufridaan - When a Qutb increases in status, he becomes a Fard and when he
completes this state, he becomes a Mehboob of Allah (azza wa jall) and when he
passes this status, he becomes the Ghous-e-Azam.

Explanation:
Sagh-e-dar - a dog at ones door.
Bi ghir na - to disperse.
Band band badan - for the body to be shredded to pieces.
Ruba - fox.

Summary:
O those who refute Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu)! if a dog from the court of the
great Saint saw your evil scheming and deceit, it would not be able to display patience
and in reply, it would tear your body to pieces! The story of Shaikh Sin’aan is quiet famous
where at the beginning, he refused to accept the eminent status of the great Saint and
later on, he repented and sought the pardon of the great Saint because his entire spiritual
state and position was taken away from him by the great Saint.
How beautiful are the titles of the great Awliya? One is called “Bahaaudeen” (a light of
religion), one is called “Nizaamudeen” (a person who organizes the religion), one is called,
“Moinudeen” (a helper for the religion), one is called “Fareedudeen” (a shining pearl of
religion) and yet, the great Saint is called “Mohyudeen” or “the blessed one who had
breathed new life into religion”.

Explanation:
Gharz - therefore
Panaa - help
Khaatir - heart
Qabzah - control

Summary:
One’s nafs and shaytaan have spread their net of misguidance everywhere, therefore O
Ghous Paak! I am in dire need of your help because Almighty (azza wa jall) has made you
control the hearts of the people.

The kings control the physical world, but the Awliya are the king of people’s hearts and
minds. This is the reason that these kings are only in control for the short period they are
in government or in power, but the Awliya are still in charge of people’s hearts and minds,
hundreds of years after they have departed from this world. It is reported that once the
ruler of Sanjar requested the great Saint to accept a portion of his kingdom. He replied, “If
Almighty (azza wa jall) has given you this small portion, He has blessed me with a much
greater kingdom. I do not even think of your kingdom as equal to even a grain of barley.
(Dawat-e-Abdiyat - Ashraf Ali Thanwi).

This same Thanwi then narrates that once someone gave the great Saint an extremely
valuable mirror which was made in China. He then gave it to one of his servants and told
him to look after it and when he wanted it, he would ask. One day, this same extremely
expensive mirror fell from his servant’s hand and broke into pieces. When the great Saint
saw this, he declared, “It is very good that something which makes you look at yourself
has broken”. In other words, the great Saint is advising people on the negativity of self-
conceit and creating pride in yourself.

Summary:
O Ghous Paak! Your command is always present- through the Divine Pen and through the
Sword which the Almighty (azza wa jall) has blessed you with. When you are for Allah
(azza wa jall), Allah (azza wa jall) is for you.

َ َ ‫ان ِہّٰلِل ک‬
)‫ان اہّٰللُ َل ٗہ‬ َ َ ‫( َم ْن ک‬
Whatever belongs to Allah (azza wa jall), (the control over that) has also been given to
you (by the Divine Permission of Allah azza wa jall). There is no delay in you helping and
assisting a person in his dire predicament. In one second, you can rectify a person’s
problem and this would continue until the time of Imam Mahdi.

During the time of Ala Hadrat (radi Allahu anhu) certain people objected to the second line
of this couplet because in the Quran and Ahadith, it is mentioned that the hearts of people
are in the Divine Control of Almighty (azza wa jall), yet, we claim that the hearts of people
are also in the control of Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu)!

However, during the time of Ala Hadrat (radi Allahu anhu) a person did send this question
to Ala Hadrat (radi Allahu anhu) by the name of Syed Mohammed Asif and the great
Mujaddid did answer the question of “Shahen Shah”.

The great Mujaddid (radi Allahu anhu) declared, “There is no doubt that the hearts of
creation are in the Divine Control of Almighty (azza wa jall). In fact, every atom in creation
is in His Divine Power. At the same time, it must be remembered that His Divine Power is
neither restricted to anything and nor is His Blessing on anyone restricted.

The Quran clearly explains in Surah Baqarah, 148:

﴾۸۴۱﴿‫َش ٍء ق َّ ِدیۡ ٌر‬

ۡ ‫ِان اہلل ع یٰل کل‬
َّ ِ ُ َّ َّ َّ
“No doubt, Allah has the power to do all that He wills”.

In Surah Bani Israeel, verse 20, the Quran declares:

ْ
﴾۰۲﴿ ‫ک مح ُظ ۡو ًرا‬ ‫وما کان عطـٓاء رب‬
َّ َّ ِ َّ ُ َّ َّ َّ َّ َّ َّ
And there is no check on the bestowing of your Lord.

In Surah Hashr, verse 6, the Quran declares:

17

‫ک َّن اہلل یُس ِلط رس ََّلٗ ع یٰل م ۡن ی َّ َّشٓاء‬

ِ ‫لی‬
ُ َّ َّ ُ ُ ُ َّ َّ
But Allah gives control to His Messenger over whomsoever He pleases.

In this context, it could also signify control over the physical being of someone, their
hearing, their seeing and even their hearts. The Almighty (azza wa jall) is able to give
control of these things to his beloved servants which further proves that there is no limit to
His Divine Mercy and there is no limit to His Divine Mercy in giving His special servants
whatsoever He wishes.
It is certainly unfortunate that people in their ignorance, restrict the Divine Mercy of the
Almighty (azza wa jall) in their own ignorant manner and seem to be able to calculate the
Mercy of the Almighty (azza wa jall) in their own “ignorant scientific manner”.
Every Muslim is aware that the Angels are able to instil the intent to do good in people’s
heart and they are also able to instil fear in a person’s heart from doing evil! They are
certainly able to do all of this with the Divine Permission of the Almighty (azza wa jall).
What else is the meaning of having power over the hearts of people if it is not this?
In Surah Anfal, verse 12, the Quran declares:

When (O beloved Prophet) your Lord was revealing to the angles that, 'I am with you,'
You should keep the Muslims firm. Soon I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels,
then strike above the necks of the infidels and strike off every finger tips of them.

It is reported in “Seerat-e-Ibn Ishaaq” and “Seerat-e-ibn Hishaam” that when the Holy
Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam) was travelling towards Bani Qurayzah, he met a few
of his companions on the way. He asked them whether they had a seen anyone passing
them. They replied that they had seen Dahiyah bin Khalifah riding past. The Holy Prophet
(salal laahu alaihi wa sallam) replied:

tremor in their fortification and to create terror in their hearts.”
Imam Bahiqi (rehmatullah) has recorded a hadith shareef from Hadrat Sayyiduna Abdullah
ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) who narrates that the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa
sallam) has declared:

“When a Qadi (or Islamic judge) sits to make a decision in a gathering, then two Angels
descend to make sure that his decision is correct. They also inspire him to understand
everything correctly. They educate him on the proper path (to take) and as long as he
does not turn away from the truth, they remain with him. As soon as he turns away from
this, they leave him and return to the heavens.”
In Daylimi Musnadul Firdous, it is narrated from Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radi Allahu anhum) that the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa
sallam) has declared:

“If I had not been revealed to you at this moment, then without doubt Umar would have
been (designated) as a Prophet. The Almighty (azza wa jall) has also chosen two Angels
who have been given the power to give Umar strength and keep him correct on every
decision. If there is a possibility that the decision might be incorrect, they change this
until truth is revealed from Umar”.
The Angels are indeed the pure creation of Allah (azza wa jall), yet, even the shaytaan is
able to instil and control the hearts and minds of people. However, the chosen servants of
Allah (azza wa jall) are protected from satanic attack.
In surah Hajr, verse 42, the Quran declares:

the jinn and men.

In Surah An’am, verse 102, the Quran declares that:

And in like manner We have made for every prophet an enemy, devils from among men
and jinn, that in them one inspires the other secretly with fabricated discourse in order to
deceive.
Hadrat Anas bin Maalik (radi Allahu anhu) and Hadrat Sayyidah Ummul Mo’mineen, Hafsa
(radi Allahu anha) narrate that the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam) has
declared:

“Without doubt, the satan is in every vein of a person and flows through him like blood.”
(Bukhaari shareef, Muslim shareef, Abu Daud shareef and Ibn Maja shareef).
In the both Sahih hadith books and other manuscripts, it is reported from Hadrat Sayyiduna
Abu Hurayrah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet has stated that, “When the Azaan
is heard, the satan runs away until the sound of the Azaan cannot be heard. When the
azaan is completed, he returns and when the Takbeer is read, he again runs away and
only returns when the Takbeer is complete:

He then becomes an obstacle in a person’s heart and whispers evil. He forces the
person to think about this and that, in fact even those things which the person had never
thought about. (It reaches a state where) the person forgets how many (rakah) he has

performed”.

Hadrat Anas bin Maalik (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi
wa sallam) has declared that, “Without doubt, the satan has placed his beak on the hearts
of people. When a person remembers the Almighty (azza wa jall), the satan is suppressed.
When a person is oblivious of this Zikr, then the satan takes the heart of the person into
his mouth.”
(Bahiqi shareef and Shuhubul Imaan).

We will present a few incidents in regard to the immense control of the great Saint on
people as this was the power given to him by His Creator (azza wa jall).

Incident (1)
Mullah Ali Qari (rehmatullah alaihi) in the “Nuzhatul Qari” explains that: Hadrat Shaikh Abu
Salih Maghribi (rehmatullah alaihi) narrates that, “My Murshid, namely Shaikh Abu
Shuhaib Madyani (rehmatullah alaihi) once informed me, ‘O Abu Salih! travel and present
yourself in front of Shaikh Abdul Qadir (radi Allahu anhu) so that he can teach you about
Faqr (a certain portion of Tasawwaf)’ When I reached Baghdad shareef and presented
myself in front of the great Saint, I had never seen any person who possessed so much
of awe and status. The great Saint instructed me to stay in chillah (spiritual seclusion) for
one hundred and forty days. After this, the great Saint approached me and asked, ‘O Abu
Saleh! look in the direction of the Qibla, what do you see?’ I replied that I could see the
Kaba. He then pointed towards the West and asked me what I could see. I replied that I
could see my Murshid, Abu Mudyani. He then asked me whether I wished to go towards
the Kaba or to my Murshid. I replied that I wished to go to my Murshid. The great Saint
then asked, ‘Do you wish to travel there in one single step or in the manner in which you
came?’ I replied that I wished to travel in the way I came. The great Saint replied, ‘This is
better.’

He then declared to me, ‘O Abu Salih! If you desire this state of Faqr, you will not get it
until you do not possess the proper step which is Tauheed and the secret of Tauheed is to
remove from your heart every atom of evil or badness. The tablet of the heart should be
completely clean and pure’. I then asked, ‘O my Master! I wish that you are able to create
this attribute in my heart through your help and assistance.’ When he heard this, he looked
at me with a special glance of great spiritual power and suddenly every atom of desire
was removed from my heart like the night disappears when the day arrives. Until the
present day, I am able to survive and mange with this one single powerful spiritual glance
of the great Saint.’”
(Bahjatul Asraar shareef).

A brief look at the author of the masterpiece “Bahjatul Asraar”:

21
www.musjidulhaq.com
Imam Ajal, Hadrat Sayyidul Ulama, Shaikhul Qura, Umdatul Urafa, Nurul Millat wad Deen,
Abul Hasan Ali bin Yusuf bin Jareer Ash Shafi (radi Allahu anhu) is that eminent scholar
who is only separated from the great Saint by being the direct Mureed of Hadrat Ghous
Paak (radi Allahu anhu) by two generations. He is also the teacher of Shaikhul Qura, Abul
Khair, Shamsudeen Mohammed bin Al Jazari (rehmatullah alaihi) who is the author of the
famous treatise entitled “Hisn-e-Haseen”. Imam Zahbi also attended his gathering and
praised him in his “Tabqaat-e-Qurraa” and has also accepted him as his Imaam and has
mentioned that, “Imam Ali bin Yusuf bin Jareer Noorudeen was a most eminent Imam, a
masterful teacher and was the Shaikhul Qurraa in Egypt.”

Allama Shaikh Abdul Haq Muhaddith Dehlwi (rehmatulah alaihi) in his treatise “Zubdatul
Asraar” praises this great Shaikh in the following manner:
“Imam Ajal, a most qualified jurist, a masterful teacher of Islamic law and Quran namely
Noorudeen Abul Hasan Ali bin Yusuf Shafi was that lucky individual (who wrote a most
notable masterpiece on the great Saint) and only two generations separated him from the
great Saint. Hence, he is definitely among those lucky people whom the great Saint has
declared about that, “Good news for him who has seen me and for him who has seen that
person who has seen me and for that person who has seen that person who has seen
that person who has seen me”. In like manner, Imam Jalaaludeen Suyuti Ash Shafi
(rehmatullah alaihi) has also sung the praises of this great and eminent scholar of the Ahle
Sunnah wa Jamaah.

Incident (2)
It is also in this manuscript that when Shaikh Saleh (rehamtullah alaihi) had narrated this
incident, Shaikh Bazzaaz (rehmatullah alaihi) also confirmed the following: “One day I was
also alone in the blessed companionship of the great Saint when he pressed his blessed
hands on my chest. Suddenly a bright light appeared from my heart as brilliant as the sun.
From that moment, I began to recognize the truth and until this day, that Nur continues to
expand and grow”.

Incident (3)
Shaikh Arif billah, Abul Khair, Bishr bin Mahfuz Baghdadi (rehmatullah alaihi) explains that,
“My condition is such that once I was in front of the great Saint when he placed his blessed
hands on my chest. Suddenly a bright light appeared from my chest and it is through this
Nur until this day that I am able to deduce truth from falsehood, guidance from
misguidance and before this, I did not have this power.”

Incident (4)
The story of Shaikh Umar Shahaabudeen Suhrwardi (rehmatullah alaihi) is also quite
famous whereby at one time, he used to love studying books of Kalam and when he was
brought in front of the great Saint, merely by passing his hands over the chest of the young
saint, he removed all of this and filled his chest with the Nur of true knowledge.

Incident (5)
Arif billah, Sayyidi Umar Bazaaz (rehmatullah alaihi) narrates that, “In the 556 hijri on the
day of Juma, I was walking with the great Saint towards the masjid. On the way, no one
even greeted the great Saint. I said to myself that this is indeed very strange. Every Juma,
when we travelled to the masjid because of the large crowds that greeted him and
surrounded him, it was with great difficulty that we even arrived at the masjid and yet,
today, no one is even greeting the great Saint. As soon as I thought about this, the great
Saint looked at me and smiled and suddenly great crowds of people started to surround
us to meet the great Saint. I then realised that I was left behind in this crowd and the first
state was better than this state. As soon as I thought about this, the great Saint smiled,
looked at me and then declared, “O Umar! This is what you had desired (in the first place).
You do not know that the hearts of people are in my hands, if I so wish I can turn them
towards me and if I so wish I can turn them away from me.”

Explanation
Lal kaar - turn away.
Cham kaar - to love.
Hir phir keh - to be helpless from all sides.

O Ghous Paak! If a person attacks you and if you turn that person away, what power does
he have of coming back. And when you consider someone as your beloved, then he
becomes an ardent servant of your court.

As a matter of fact when the great Saint shows affection for something, that person comes
alive. When the lady complained about him eating chicken, he made the chicken come
alive by merely passing his blessed hands over this chicken.

Keh yeh seenah ho muhabbat ka khazaaenah tera.

Explanation:
Khun jiya - keys.
Khazee nah - treasure or wealth.

O Ghous Paak! The Almighty (azza wa jall) has given you the keys to people’s hearts.
Therefore, please bless me and do me a great favour to fill my heart with the wealth of
your love and respect.

The satan is a disease and illness while the Saints are the cure for this illness and disease.
If you feel that the satan has captured your heart, then to release this, you need the
attention of the Saints. Remember that the satan has promised the Almighty (azza wa jall)
that he would try to mislead everyone but would have no power to misguide the beloved
servants of the Almighty (azza wa jall). Satan also tried to misguide the great Saint when
he was busy in spiritual seclusion, yet, with the Divine Help of the Almighty (azza wa jall),
he was able to defeat the satan on many occasions.

The great Saint reveals that, “When I used to be in seclusion in the jungle, the satan used
to appear in front of me in frightening forms and shapes. He used to also throw fireballs at
me, yet, I felt immensely strong at heart. From the unseen I used to hear a voice declaring,
‘O Abdul Qadir! Awake and challenge him. We will help you. I then used to attack him and
sometimes even managed to slap him. I also used to read “La hawla” with the result that
he used to burst into flames’”
(Bahjatul Asraar - Qalaaidul Jawaahir).

Even the Jinns used to be amazed at the steadfastness of the great Saint. Once while
lecturing to some of his students and the Ulama present on the topic of Qada and Qadr
(predestination), when a very large snake fell on him from the ceiling. The people in front
of him dispersed out of shock, but the great Saint remained absolutely still. The snake
entered his clothes, passed around his entire body, wrapped around his neck and then sat
on the floor looking at him. It then began to speak to him. When it had disappeared, the
people asked him what it had said. The great Saint replied, ‘It said to me, I have indeed
tested many Awliya, but have never found someone like you’ I replied, “I was speaking
about Qada and Qadr and it is Qada and Qadr which has allowed a small worm like you
to move. Hence, I did not move at all so that my words and actions are the same.’”
(Tabqaat-e-Kubra, Nuzhatul Khaatir, Bahjatul Asraar).

His son, Sayyiduna Hadrat Abdur Razak (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that the great Saint
explained that, “One day I was performing salah in Jamia Mansuriya when a snake
suddenly appeared in front me with his mouth open at the place where I was going to
make Sajdah. When I went into sajdah, I moved it away with my hand. It then went around

my neck and then entered through one sleeve and came out from the other. When I
completed the salah, it disappeared. The next day, I entered a quite section of this mosque
and saw a person whose eyes were wide and stretched open. I understood that this was
a Jinn. He then said to me, ‘I am the same snake which you had seen yesterday. I have
tested many Awliya, but have not found someone as great as you. There are some Awliya
whom I have found that internally they were worried but externally they were strong. Some
I found them to be worried both internally and externally. However, when it came to you, I
found that you were not worried or disturbed both internally and externally. It then wished
to make Taubah at my hands and I sought Taubah on his behalf.’”
(Tabqaat-e-Kubra).

Another of his beloved sons, Shaikh Moosa (radi Allahu anh) narrates that, “One day the
great Saint was travelling through a jungle and there was nothing to eat or drink. He stayed
there for a number of days. When he became desperately thirsty, a cloud appeared above
his head and water appeared from this cloud through which he could quench his thirst”.
This story is also famous in that a few moment later, satan appeared to him and informed
him that everything had become Halaal to him which was previously Haraam. The great
Saint read the Aoozu and this state also disappeared. The satan again tried to deceive
him by saying that, the knowledge of the great Saint had saved him, but seeing through
the evil scheme of the satan, the great Saint replied that it was not his knowledge which
had saved him but the Divine Mercy of the Almighty (azza wa jall).
(Tabqaat-e-Kubra, Qalaaidul Jawaahir).

Explanation:
Kundah - engraved.
Keh - so that.
Duzd - thief.
Rajeem - expelled, cursed.
Toghra - royal seal.

Summary:
O Ghous Paak! If only your blessed name would be stamped on my heart so that when
the cursed and expelled satan sees the royal seal with your name on it, he will immediately
turn back so that I can be protected from his evil.

There is no doubt that a person can only protect himself against the satan by being
attached to a Kaamil Saint because we have already come to know that the satan has no
power against these beloved servants of the Almighty (azza wa jall). At the same time, we
must realise that as strong as the opponent so much stronger must the medication be.
What is the value of giving a mere disprin to someone who is suffering from cancer? Some
saints have mentioned that, “He who does not have a Shaikh, his shaikh is the satan”.

Pre-conditions of a Shaikh or Murshid

As it is necessary to have a Shaikh or Murshid, in like manner it is necessary to make sure
that the Shaikh himself has fulfilled the preconditions of being a Shaikh. As Shaikh Sa’adi
(rehmatullah alaihi) has explained:

‫ا ہکن وخد رمگاہ اسٹ رکا رربہی دنک‬

“That person who is misled or deviated himself, how can he guide anyone?”
These words have been very nicely presented by a poet in which he has explained:

‫س جضر ںیم ہراروں راہرں یھب رھپےت ںیہ‬

ِ ‫ابل‬
‫ارگ داین ںیم رانہ ےہ وت ھچک اچہپں دیپا رک‬
“There are hundreds of thieves who walk around dressed as Khidr.
If you wish to live on earth, then create some method of recognition”

According to the advice of the great Saint, we will present the conditions that should be
seen in a Murshid or spiritual guide so that a person can save and protect himself from
these religious thieves.

1. The spiritual link of this person needs to be until the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi
wa sallam). There must be no break in between.
2. The Shaikh needs to be completely within the folds of the Ahle Sunnah wa Jamaah.
If not, he will sink and drown you also. At the same time, if we look at the simplicity
of people in the present climate, these same so called “peers” who have nothing
to do with Islam are making mureeds all around even though previous to this, they
never used to make mureeds. They are merely taking advantage of simple minded
people. Therefore, one has to be cautious all the time.
3. The Shaikh needs to be well learned in Islam, preferably an Aalim. Otherwise, he
would himself become a tool in the hands of the satan.
4. He is not an open sinner and transgressor of Islamic law.

In like manner, the person who is the Sajjaadah or the representative of the Shaikh after
he passes away has to have the same qualities. It does not mean that because he is the

26
www.musjidulhaq.com
family of the Shaikh, he becomes an instant replacement. There are hundreds of examples
in history where the immediate family have never become the Sajjaadah of that Shaikh or
Murshid.

Certain attributes of a Sajjaadah which has been explained by the great Saint are:
1. He needs to display immense kindness and respect for people around him.
2. He needs to be an example of Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddique (radi Allahu
anhu) in honesty and truthfulness.
3. He needs to be an example of Hadrat Sayyiduna Umar (radi Allahu anhu) in
propagating good and prohibiting evil.
4. He needs to be an example of Hadrat Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (radi Allahu anhu)
in feeding people and staying awake at night in ibaadah.
5. He needs to be an example of Hadrat Sayyiduna Ali Murtaza (radi Allahu anhu) in
bravery and having Islamic knowledge.
6. Completely following the Islamic law and obeying every Sunnah.
7. Displaying Zuhd and piety. In other words, having control over one’s tongue and
refraining from back biting.
8. Not to think low of someone without any valid reason. Not to taunt or make a joke
of someone in public.
9. Not to be in the company of females which one is prohibited from mixing with. To
refrain from pride and self-conceit.
10. To remain firm on Ijmah Ummah of the Ahle Sunnah wa Jamaah.
11. To adopt a simple life and not to show pomp and grandeur such as living in fancy
mansions and driving fancy cars.
12. To possess a full length beard. In the present time, there are dozens of so called
“peers” who travel the world visiting their “mureeds” and yet they do not even have
a beard. The great Saint has clearly instructed people on the keeping of a full
length beard.

In his masterpiece entitled, “Ghunyatut Taalibeen” on page 33, the great Saint has
presented the hadith shareef that:

‫ان (اَب ُ ْو ھُ َریْ َر َۃ) َی ْقب ِ ُض َعلٰی َل ْح َیت ِ ٖہ ف ََما ف ََض َل َع ْن َل ْح َیت ِٖہ َجزَّ ٗہ‬
َ َ‫ک‬
Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radi Allahu anhu) used to hold his beard with his fist
and whatever was longer than this, he used to trim away.”

Hadrat Sayyiduna Umar (radi Allahu anhu) has informed us that:

‫ُخ ُذوا َما َت ْح َت ا ْل ُق ْب َض ِۃ‬

“Trim the hair of the beard which is longer than ones fist in length.”

27
www.musjidulhaq.com

If there is a “murshid” or “peer” who does not possess these qualities which we have
outlined, then run away from that person like you would run away from a plague. This
person is nothing but the right hand of satan!

What is Sufism or Tasawwaf?

It is to clean the heart of all evil and ill intent and it is based on six qualities. They are to
possess the generosity of Nabi Ebrahim, the contentment of Nabi Ishaaq, the patience of
Nabi Ayub, the pleading of Nabi Zakariyya, the humility of Nabi Yahya, the simplicity of
Nabi Moosa, the journey of Nabi Esa (alaihi mus salaam) and the absolute humbleness
of the Holy Prophet (salal laahu alaihi wa sallam).

These noble lessons can be gleamed from the masterpieces of the great Saint such as,
“Ghunyatut Taalibeen, Futhu hul Ghaib, Al Fathur Rabbani wal Faizur Rahmaani, Yawaa
qeetul Hakm, Jalaa’ul Khaatir fil Baatin waz Zaahir, Sirrul Asraar fi maa Yahtaaju ilai hil
Abraar and Diwaan-e-Ghous Azam etc.”

If one is able to practise upon the noble teachings and advice of the great Saint, hopefully,
the blessed name of the great Saint would become engrained in his heart and he will be
able to protect himself against the satan. The above couplet of Sayyidi Ala Hadrat (radi
Allahu anhu) implies all of this which we have presented.

Naz’a me gor me mezaan peh sare pul peh kahee
Na chuteh haat seh damaan-e-mu’alla tera

Explanation:
Naz’a - moment of death.
Gor - grave.
Pul - the bridge over hell which leads into Jannah. Said to be sharper than a sword and
thinner than a piece of hair.
Mu’alla - mighty and powerful.

Summary:
O Hadrat Ghous Paak! Please allow us to clutch your blessed gown (your blessed
protection) at the time of death, in the grave, on the day of Judgement, at the moment
when the deeds are weighed and at the time when we are crossing over the Pul Siraat.

The great Mujaddid is also indicating to the fact that when people were saved in their

28
www.musjidulhaq.com
graves from punishment merely by passing the door of his blessed madressah, what must
the status of that person who is protected by the great Saint? It was also the habit and
behaviour of eminent Mashaa’ikh of Iraq that whenever they passed by the door of the
mazaar and madressah, they used to kiss the doorstep. Even the eminent Awliya used to
sweep the courtyard of his complex.
(Bahjatul Asraar).

When a plague broke out, the great Saint advised people to rub the grass which was found
in the vicinity of his madressah on their body. He also advised people to drink the water
from his madressah. All of them were protected from this plague and many gained a cure
from this illness. It is also mentioned that after this, the plague never returned to Baghdad
shareef during the time of the great Saint.

Once an Abdaal made a mistake and he was immediately removed from his position. He
then approached the blessed court of the great Saint and pleaded his case. He also
rubbed his forehead on the steps of the madressah. Suddenly a voice was heard
declaring, “Go, you have been forgiven and because of the barakah of Abdul Qadir, you
will be given a higher position than before. Go and given thanks to Abdul Qadir for this
blessing.”
(Tafreehul Khaatir).

If this is the position of merely the steps of his madressah, what must be the position of
the great Saint himself?

Once a group of Christian priests wanted to accept Islam and this delegation was led by
a person named Sinaan. In his dream, he saw Nabi Esa (alaihis salaam) who advised him
to go the blessed court of Hadrat Ghous Paak (radi Allahu anhu) and also present his
salam. This person then approached the blessed court of the great Saint and standing in
front of everyone he exclaimed, “I am person from Yemen and had a desire to accept Islam
but also had the wish that I accept Islam at the hands of the noblest Muslim of his era. I
then saw Nabi Esa (alaihis salaam) in a dream who advised me to come to Baghdad and
meet Shaikh Abdul Qadir because presently in the world, he is the most supreme of
Muslims”.
(Qalaaidul Jawaahir, Bahjatul Asraar, Safeenatul Awliya).

In the same manner, Shaikh Umar Al Kimaa’i (rehmatullah alaihi) narrates another
incident. He narrates that, “Once, thirteen people presented themselves in front of the
great Saint and informed him that they were Arab Christians and their wish was to accept
Islam. Suddenly, they heard a voice declare, “Go to Baghdad shareef and accept Islam at
his hands.”

‫نئمطم وہں ہک رمے رس ہپ ےہ تلِّا ریتا‬
Dhup mesher ki wo jaan sooz qiyaamat heh maghar
Mutma’in ho keh mereh sar peh he palla tera.

Explanation:
Hashar - day of Judgement.
Jaan-e-sooz - fire which consumes a person.
Palla- gown or foot

Summary:
O Ghous Paak! There is no doubt that the intense heat on the day of judgement would kill
someone. However, I have hope that (on this day) I will be protected by the shadow of
your blessed being and kindness.

This day would be so intense and so full of trial and tribulation that even a friend would
not recognize a friend. In the hadith shareef, it is mentioned that:

“When two people love and (respect) each other for the sake of Allah (azza wa jall), even
though one stays in the West and one in the East or whether it be in different times, (on
the day of Judgement) the Almighty (azza wa jall) will gather them together and declare,
“In the world, you both used to love (and respect) each other for My sake, it is this which
has gathered you together.”
(Mishkaat)
Hence, we who are major sinners, have absolute certainty that we will stand at the feet of
the great Saint on this momentous day and declare, “Where are we even fit to stand at
the blessed feet of such a beloved servant of Allah (azza wa jall), it is merely for the sake
of a little love and respect we had for you that we are in front of you today.” Ameen.

In the hadith of Bukhari shareef, it is mentioned that on the day of judgement:

‫اَ ْل َم ْر ُء َم َع َم ْن اَ َح َّب‬
A person will be with that person he loves.
When we also know that on this day not even a person who has given water to another

30
www.musjidulhaq.com
will be robbed of his reward and not even a person who has assisted another with making
Wudu be robbed of his reward, how will anybody be robbed of reward if they have genuine
love and respect for the great Saint who is a beloved servant of Allah (azza wa jall)?

‫ہک کلف وار مُرتدوں ہپ ےہ ساہی ریتا‬
Bah jat uss sir ki heh jo bahjatul asraar me heh

Explanation:
Bah jat- happiness or joy.
Sirr - secret
Falak waar - Like the heavens.
Bahjatul Asraar - A secret towards happiness. Also one of the most authentic books written
on the great Saint.

Summery:
O my Master! You have certainly declared that your blessed hand is on your mureeds as
the heaven or sky is over the earth and this has been mentioned in Bahjatul Asraar.
Therefore, we have complete confidence and hope that you will also protect us on the day
of Judgement and while we are on this earth.

‫اے رضؔا خیسٹ مغ ار ہلمج اہجں دنمشِ تسٹ‬

‫رکدہ ام امنمِ وخد ہلبقٴ احاجےت را‬
Ae Raza! cheest-e-gham ar jumla jahaan dushman tust
Kar dah umm maa min-e-khud! Qibla haa jaateh ra.

Explanation:
This last couplet besides being a sincere plea to the great Saint, also indicates to us the
brilliance of Sayyidi Ala Hadrat (radi Allahu anhu). The entire manqabat was written in
urdu, but the last couplet is written in Persian. At the same time, you must also remember
that at the end of every couplet, Ala Hadrat (radi Allahu anhu) also used the word “tera”
and this would not fit in the Persian language. Hence, in his brilliance, he uses the word
“qibla ha jaateh raa” as the final word. Now if we look at the last four syllables of this
Persian word, it would be “Te yeh raa and alif” which would also make it “tera”! Therefore,
even though this is Persian, it would fit into the entire Urdu manqabat of the great Saint.
