its opposite –love; the antidote to injury is pardon, to doubt –faith, and so on. This is also the path of virtue,
i.e., to be able to overcome a bad habit or vice, one must practice its opposite –the good habit or virtue. This
prayer expresses very well the values of the Gospel and calls the ‘pray-er’ to take on the standard of Jesus of
loving even before being loved in return. By continuously dwelling on, reflecting, meditating or
contemplating the virtues and gospel values one can be transformed.
