Can you believe it - Im still waiting for my Fiscon bluetoothkit and reversing Module from Kufatec USA.
I thought it would be easier ordering from US rather than Germany and since pricing about the same I thought english speaking location would
be better in case of any problems.Looks like they are waiting on stock from Germany so it may be faster ordering from the Germany in the first
place.

ok here is the next bit.the rest will come in dribs and drabs.Any newbies please feel free to thank me.Any better shortcuts or suggestions are
most welcome. Most frustrating part to taking off the panels which no one has ever produced a guide for the tiguan so here is my version. A
panel removal tool would help but I didnt have one.Dont need one in the end so save yourself $30.
remove the uppermost trim first

next on the botton of the tailgate
Backto the upper trim you have just removed
Now removed the side trim-only need to do one side,i chose left but either is ok
removal of licence plate light
Install new Touareg camera
Wiring
The guidewire -thin gauge but stiff metal wire for fencing or equivalent
Remember I had to replace the faulty wiring hence the video and power wires are different now
Once you have fed it throught the rubber tube,you must then feed it back down into the roof lining.Doing this in 2 parts is necessary.Feed a
second guide wire as shown forwards and up out of the hole,then attach the first guide wire and pull back so fisrt guide wire comes out from
under roof lining.
final tidy up - no need to remove panels inside the car unless you are nuts or have OCD.
ok thats it for this week.

Brilliant post bobor! Thank you. Is quite a bit more work than I anticipated I must admit. Am interested to see the rest of the install with the
running of the wires to the front. Are you removing paneling to do that, or just trying to hide the wires as best you can by sliding it into the
gaps?
I need to install a diversity antenna for my unit as well as the little antenna that came with it is useless. I reckon puttin it in the hatch lid would
be a good idea. If that's the case I'll get all the wiring and stuff done at once. Looks like I need to leave a fair chunk of time available to do it
though.

The write up took 3 times longer than the install itself.
Only other panel that will need to come off will be rear panel with light and 12v.other than that should be able to tuck wires in and under to the
front.

OK here is the rest of the install for anyone interested still.
Removal of rear left boot panel
This step is optional , desirable but entails buying another tool
Only clipped in so be gentle
Looking inside/behind the panel
Wiring up Power to Camera.
Running video lead to head unit
The Kufatec IMA is required to gain video input in RNS510
Reconnect all the wiring and enjoy .
This bit is for FISCON BLUETOOTH UNIT that I installed at the same time

I hope everyone has found this helpful. Personally it has been a very enjoyable exercise.It has taken alot of time and research to complete this
and is really there for those of us who like to tinker.For any new car buyers reading this,I think I am still undecided on wether I would still pay
the additional A$3500 for the rns51- rvc optional package or follow the path that I have taken.Non tinkers pay the $3500. Tinkers save yourself
over $1700
For me the balance sheet reads
ebay rns510 A$1550

kufatec ima/rvc interface us$180
ebay toureg camera A$100
DSE (Dck smith) wire taps A$5
electric tape A$5
Comparing apples with apples though ,the OEM controller cost about$1000 for reversing lines in the camera so ultimately savings in actually
only $900.
For me I had a dispute with the ebay seller of the RNS510 and paypal refunded me $1400 so now i have a fully working RNS510 for $150
but thats another story
OK thats it.
C'mon Kaine How about giving this thread a sticky for all this hard work??

Thanks very much for this, it's nothing short of brilliant! Looks like a lot of hard work and now that I've seen what you've done I'm not sure I
have the resolve to do it myself. There looks to be too much that could be broken by my rough hand. We'll see how it goes though.

I have a black Tiguan 1.4 TSI 150hp 4motion and I m very happy with this car.
Due to my bad English I have not understand some points in your guide and i have some questions.
First of all borbor3131 thank you very much for the usefull "How to". Good Job!
My questions:
1) The numbreplate light which you replace with the rear view camera, has also a small light which be turned on when you turn the the
master switch lights? I'm doing this question because I saw on photo that you cut the cable of the numberplate light which you remove...
2) When do you have picture by rear camera? When you choose the rear gear OR when you select the rear view at RNS?
3) After the install of RNS-510 and Rear Cam, I will need the Vag-Com cable? And is this http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info ... di-
VW.html the adapter which i need to connect the camera to RNS?
These were my questions for the beginning

1.the camera's number plate light is reconnected to the original wiring for the number plate light.Just make sure the polarity is correct as both
wires are white

the Kufatec RVC module you have linked too is correct. This is what I have. For the same price you can get the IMA module which in addition
to RVC also has a extra set of video inputs with RCA plugs so in retrospect I would choose this.

The screen will automatically turn to rear view once reverse is selected.
If you buy the IMA module you will have this --and also a rear chase view if you connect the output from the camera to both the reversing
camera input and the extra videoinput of the IMA module ( which is not possible with the RVC module).
A vagcom is a MUST HAVE. or ask your dealer to recode.

This camera also has 2 addition wires for power for the light,so 4 in total
