I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the course, the students must know how to find the mean and variance of
random variable, to apply sampling techniques and distributions to estimate population mean
and proportion to perform hypothesis testing on population mean and proportion and
perform correlation and regression.
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of random variables and probability
distributions.
B. Performance The learner is able to apply an appropriate random variable for a given real life problem.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous For any discrete probability distribution :
lesson or presenting The probability P(x) is between 0 and 1 for any value of x
new lesson The value of x are exhaustive : the probability distribution includes all possible values.
The values of x are mutually exclusive or independent

B. Establishing a Assume a random variable x ,we could actually looks a certain specific event ,say for instance
purpose for the specific event that x =2.This means the event consists of all outcomes of an experiment which
lesson have assigned x-value of 2
