Are you searching for the best tourist

not blow off visiting the municipality of
Pitogo as it possesses wonders of
nature, acclimatizing this grandiose
land into bustling and majestic town
offering visitors of its amazing
sanctuary of giant sea turtles –the
Panikian Island.
Pitogo is a fifth class municipality and
it is an hour and a half away van - trip
from the city of Pagadian. A 40-minute
banca ride from Poblacion, Pitogo,
Zamboanga del Sur would ferry you to
Panikian Island where stretches of
blanketed fine, white sand and crystal
clear, blue waters gesture both
swimmers and divers.
Panikian Island or “Pulo” as what the
affiliates called it, is a locus where two
different and opposite creatures of the
nature forgather. These are the “Paniki”
or Bats where it got its name, and the
“Pawikan” or Turtlesthat have found
refuge in the island.
This island is near to perfectness. It
has dainty and luxuriant flora and unique
rock formations that have not altered
throughout the passing of time. And in
just a few meters away from these rock
formations, an islet can be found which is
believed by the locals to have some
mystifying precedent.
It is truly a one of a kind enchanting sight
to tumble. Its waters resemble an
abundant pearlescent gem that captures
the eye of the guests whenever its surface
is illuminated. This awesome creation is
still unspoiled, unslurred and uninhabited
by people. It is not as big and popular as
Boracay but it is as fine as the latter and is
beyond compare. It’s a living abode of
rich marine creatures and preserved corals
perfect for snorkelling.

Our “mother” is the greatest God-
given gift to us. She loves us very much
and supplies all our needs. Water,
air,food, and shelter are not problems
because of her offerings. But years have
passed and her love has gradually
shrunk and has been replaced by ire.
“Why are you angry to us mother? What
fault have we done?”
This is the truth of her madness
to us. Millions of trees are cut down
every year. Some are used to build
structures and others are used as fuels.
Trees are also used in making useful
things like tissue, paper, pencil, etc. But
we have forgotten one thing, to do
reforestation – planting of new ones.
Because of the diminishing number of
trees, floods are frequent because of the
unabsorbed water from heavy rainfall.
Trees also perform a big part of holding
the soil.Their roots are the onesmaking
the soil firm, therefore; without them,
landslide would apparently occur.
Our inventions in reality are also killing
our Mother Earth. Betterillustration to
this is the fuel-powered vehicles. These
vehicles emit harmful
substanceslike carbon dioxide (CO2) and
Chloroflourocarbon (CFC) that are harmful
to the ozone layer which disrupt the ozone
molecules. When the ozone layer
depletes, ultraviolet rays will freely pass
and be trapped on the Earth’s atmosphere.
This is exactly called “global warming”.
Calamities destroy crops,buildings and
even lives. Many have suffered and died.
This is the result of abusing our nurturing
nature. And at recent, she punishes us to
make us realize that what we are doing is
definitely wrong.
After this brothers and sisters, can we still
ask her the same question? For me, I
would truly say ‘no’.

They are angels fallen from heavens
above. Their mission on earth is to be
our companion, soul mate, intimate,
confidante, alter ego, second self, play
mate, schoolmate, ally, buddy, pal,
sidekick, amigo, peeps, BFF and many
more.
“Nobody grows old by merely living”, a
poem goes. It surely means we need
someone to grow with. Friendships are
what help us be humans.
Making friends as many as we
can makes us wealthy individuals; not
by degree, money and luxury.
Friends are those who make us
smile in our stormy days, who value us
as priceless and incomparable and who
never leave us. They stick around and
keep our deepest and darkest secrets.
“Friends are people who root for
you, no matter what” says Rev. Ed
Bacon.
4 The Candor
Sportsmanship is a quality and
behaviour of a sportsman whose
skill is found in sports from the time
the sport was discovered, an extra-
curricular activity.
That’s why we conduct sports
fest in school every year not just
only for fun and enjoyment of
putting down the hurdles of study
loads but for the students to practice
this quality and let them learn on
becoming disciplined citizens.
We know that in every
competition, there is always a
winner and a loser. And to deal with
our skills of being a good sportsman
is to follow a lot of game rules and
accept referee’s decision.
A player who possesses this
behaviour is peaceful and
successful.
Therefore, we need to revive
the spirit of sportsmanship within us
in playing all the games in life for us
to gain friendly relationship with
other gamers.
Futsal and How It Is Played
Futsal comes from Spanish
futbolsala or futbol de salon. The
term is literally termed as “mini-
football”, is a variant of
association football played on a
hard court delimited by lines,
smaller than a football pitch, and
mainly indoors. It can be
considered a version of five-a-
side football.
Futsal started in 1930
when Juan Carlos Ceriani, a
teacher in Montevido, Uruguay,
created a version of indoor
football for recreation in YMCAs.

Zumba is an exercise fitness program created
by Colombian dancer and
cyclist/choreographer Alberto “Beto” “Power
Pedal” Perez during the 1990’s. Zumba is a
trademark owned by Zumba Fitness, LLC. The
name “Zumba” has no particular meaning; it
was chosen arbitrarily as a brand name.
Zumba involves dance and aerobic
movements performed to energetic music. The
choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca,
samba, salsa, meringue and mambo. Squats
and lunges are also included.
Zumba classes are typically about an hour
long and are taught by by instructors licensed
by Zumba Fitness, LLC. In one Zumba class, a
person can burn between 500-1000 calories,
depending on energy put forth.
There are nine types of Zumba classes
for different levels of age and exertion; these
are:
 Zumba Gold is a program designed
for beginners and older people.
 Zumba Step is a lower-body workout
that incorporates Zumba routines and
step aerobics with Latin dance
rhythms.
 Zumba Toning is for people who do
their workouts with toning sticks. This
type provides participants with a
cardio workout and strength training.
