President Develop and drive programs specifically designed to foster the development of the youth in our
community, with our primary target being African American at-risk youth. Lead a team of volunteers while

RFP responses to the Job Opportunities for Low-income Individuals Program Grant FY 2011 (JOLI) Following a

Edmondson - Westside HS - High School Assessment (HSA) tutoring and student performance analysis.

Instructor and Course Developer Adjunct Faculty - Ethics in Professional Practice - Developed and facilitated
a course that examines ethics in todays evolving healthcare environment. The course looks at the evolution of
privacy and the ethical dilemmas that result from current laws, social, and cultural implications. This course was
developed to address the Maryland Counseling Certification requirement for Ethics and was deployed in multiple
degree tracks.
Significant Accomplishments
By reformatting the course to deliver it online using WebCT, enrollment increased by 200%.

panelist for the Middle Years with respect to Secondary Transition and Cradle to College and Career, I discussed creative best
practice strategies and served to translate much of the academic language of this critical topic to ensure the best understanding by
stakeholders like parents and non-academic service providers.

Suit Up to Win; Body, Mind & Soul Black Male Empowerment Workshop Series 04-06/2011- I served on two panels in this
series covering topics relative to career development, advancement and growth with consideration to generating multiple revenue
streams and second careers. This effort was sponsored by K&G Fashion Superstores, SMSi Marketing and the Reginald Lewis
Museum.

100 Black Men of America 2010 Chapter Summit Panel Discussion Charter Schools: Best Practices & Lessons Learned
December 2010 Moderated a panel of experts discussing best practice charter schools. Panelists included Assistant Secretary of
Education, James Shelton III, Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation & Improvement, U.S. Department of Education and high
performing charter school principals and administrators.

Saving Promise: A Discussion on Domestic Violence 09/2010 Panelist for author, L. Y. Marlowes tour designed to deliver
strategies and community healing regarding the important topic of Domestic Violence. Ms. Marlowes book tells her story about a four
generation legacy of Domestic Violence.
Saving our Youth Panel Inaugural Black Service Academy Graduates Super Reunion 08/2010 Panelist for a discussion on
the power of Mentoring structured to inspire Black Service Academy Graduates to mentor youth in their communities.
Education on the Front Line II June 2010 - This forum presented by 100 Black Men of America and Edison Learning was
designed to present current issues and successful strategies in K-12 education. I served as a PANELIST to discuss single gender
charter school development and effectiveness.

The Future of Education: Intervention Strategies for Students of Unrealized Potential - Mini-Institute, March 2007,
Jackson MS - Experts, educators, and mentors from around the country addressed the needs of students of unrealized potential.
Panelists presented current research on the dynamic knowledge that will shape education policy and practitioner intervention
strategies in the 21
st
Century. The session was sponsored by Rand Corporation and 100 Black Men of Americas Leadership
Development Institute. Working with the IDEA Partnership, I presented the issue of Disproportionality in Special Education with
recommendations and practical solutions to address the issues.

IDEA Partnership Conferences 2006Present (Interview) As a member of 100 Black Men of Americas National Education
committee, I participate in these IDEA Partnership content development sessions tasking expert educators, researchers and partners
to develop and leverage strategies to improve Special & General Education across the nation. These conferences are sponsored by
the National Association of State Directors of Special Education and focus on innovative learning concepts and strategies to be
deployed nationally, like Response to Intervention (RTI,) Universal Design for Learning (UDL,) Autism and Secondary Transition, and
Cradle to College & Career strategies. The primary focus is to develop the content that facilitates transition from Research to
Practice.
National Center for Culturally Responsible Educational Systems (NCCRESt) Feb 2007 - National Forum Leadership for
Equity and Excellence: Transforming Education - Educators, policy makers, advocacy groups, parents, and community members
from across the United States gathered to explore how educational systems can assure equity in educational outcomes for all
students through school improvement, leadership, family and community partnerships, policy, and teaching.
Thinking Critical about Critical Thinking 10/2003 -This professional development workshop was developed out of psychological
research on learning and thinking and the practical experiences of community college faculty which supports the idea that students
need to be actively involved with the skills and knowledge they need to learn. Conducted by Howard Community College staff.

PhD Project Consisted of a 3-day seminar in Chicago by special invitation for minority business PhD candidates based on previous
accomplishments. The objective is recruitment and preparation for pursuing a PhD. The KPMG Foundation and several other
organizations sponsor the PhD Project. The mission is to increase the number of minority professors in Tier I and Tier II business
schools.

on, dynamic instruction, activities, practical projects, networking, laughter, and learning. This workshop is highly active, brain-based,
and experiential. The content is based on 35 years of practical teaching experience and the Self-Science curriculum featured as a
model in Daniel Golemans 1995 bestseller, Emotional Intelligence. Certified Associates are delivering programs in over 20 countries
and all US states.

6seconds 2013 EQ Week The Virtual Festival of Engaging Emotions - eWeek 2013 included webinars, podcasts, ebooks, and
videos from neuroscientists, scholars, authors and expert practitioners bringing the latest science of emotion to improve businesses,
schools, and life.
IBM First and Second Line Management Training Premiere Corporate Training provided to all IBM 1

Leadership in a Project Management Environment Course placed fundamental project management skills in the context of
organizations and human resources. Covered communication and team building skills that are essential to the success of any project.

responsibilities. Sessions were conducted by a former Union Organizer - Employment Learning Innovations, Inc.
Hooked on the Net Workshop - Seminar presented by the Kolmac School of Addictions Studies and Hazelden, Inc., dealing with the

Service Level Management - Presented a strategic/tactical resource planning process emphasizing the value of quality computing
services to an organization and why the organization may be promoting less than optimum service.

Strategy
Strategic Choices - Three-day seminar based on the book "Strategic Choices" focused on developing competitive strategies for the
90's. The seminar highlighted the need for strategic partnerships and alliances to develop an extended enterprise. The workshop
emphasized that communities must be nurtured for business success. Session was conducted by the authors.

Global Environments and Strategies Study Tour This study tour included 13 days of seminars on management decision
making in competitive global environments. Focus was on the opportunities and constraints arising from diverse and changing
international environmental factors. Seminars included meetings with local and international business leaders in Singapore,
Malaysia, Thailand and Japan.
Core Competencies Gaining Sustained Competitive Advantage Seminar conducted by Dr. Gary Hammel on how companies
