Oil Pressure Measurement
Torque converter
(1) Connect a pressure gauge (1961 kPa (20 kgf/cm2) inlet pressure
[284 psi]) to the pressure tap (M14 × 1.5 thread).
Special tools needed
NOTE
Observe the engine tachometer reading.
5-31
POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSIONS
Start by:
(1) Raise the front axle housing with a jack and place
wood blocks under the outer mast. Tilt the mast
forward to raise the front wheels.
(2) Block the rear wheels.
! CAUTION
Remember, the front wheels will rotate when the
clutch pressure is tested.
Procedure
(1) Set the inching pedal stroke to the specified value.
(2) Connect a pressure gauge to the clutch pressure tap
(M14 × 1.5). 980

(3) Move the operating plunger to the forward position.

relative to the plunger stroke. Make sure that the
pressure curve is identical with the curve shown. 0 5 10

gradually depress the accelerator pedal all the way by
the right foot. Under this condition, observe the engine
tachometer reading.

Item GP50K DP50K
! CAUTION
Do not attempt to depress the inching pedal. Do
not continue “stall speed” run for more than 10
seconds. A failure to follow this precaution would
result in destruction of the torque converter.
NOTE
(a) Any stall speed within ± 100 rpm of the
specification is satisfactory.
(b) If the engine or torque converter is changed, the
stall speed will vary since the stall speed is
determined by the combination of engine and
torque converter.
