Description
Enter the quantity being measured. In the area of Length this filed is
called "Class" and specifies the type of artifact under calibration, for
example: "diameter standards", "end standards", "CMM artifacts".
Device under calibration. Item received by the customer
This field may be used to further specify the type of instrument to be
calibrated or the calibration method
The measurement range can be expressed explicitly or implicitly
(i.e. through a range of parameters) but never with a reference to
other services. Implicit specifications must provide enough
information in the parameters section so as to indicate the range of
validity of the uncertainty statement.
Comments on services
Information listed here will be published with the CMC. Examples are
restrictions on the service scope requested by reviewers. After 24
May 2004 the KCDB adds the publication date in this field.

Formatting Instructions
When writing numbers use the scientific notation as often as possible in the format "YE-XX", where:
· "Y" is a number that may include decimals using the point "." as the decimal separator.
· Do not separate the number "Y" from the exponent "E-XX" by a blank or any other character.
· Always write the part "-XX" with three characters (and not two): a "-" or "+" sign and two integers (for in
expressions such as "1E-9" for "1E-09", or "4.23E04" for "4.23E+04"). The sign "-" is obtained in Arial as a sho
Do not use "±" in the uncertainty column; "±" is reserved for ranges in the specification of parameters.
The "±" sign may be obtained by typing "ALT+0177".
Do not use a blank character in the multiplication of a number by a quantity (thus, write "0.24L" and not "0.24 L"
When the expanded uncertainty is given as a function of a quantity its range and units must be specified. I
the range may be indicated in other cells. For example "Q[20,
When writing a parameter range units should be given at both 0.24L],

the range. In addition, use "to" instea
interpreted as the "minus" sign (for example the specification of the parameter "Frequency", "10 - 20 Hz", should
Hz").
The level of confidence should be written as a percentage (such as "95%") and not as the number "0.95". G
been previously defined in "text" format, this result is obtained by typing "9" "5" "%" without inserting any blank
