Different connections at refrigerant dryers

We are using different connections at our refrigerant dryer type DS and DH. You can
differentiate it very easy by checking the frequency. At our 50 Hz dryer we are using
always BST connections. At our DH dryer we are using NPT connections, because the
60Hz dryers where often sold to America.

The NPT connection is different to the BSP Connection, the diameter is a little bit smaller
and the flank lead is a bit lower than at the BST connection. So you have more windings
for each inch thread depth. You will notice the difference quite simple. If you want to
connect a BST nipple with a NPT coupling, you won’t be able to screw more than one
winding.

Below a short list of all 60 Hz dryers and their connections:

Typ DS
DS 2 to DS 70 NPT Compressed air connection
DS 90 to DS 390 BSP / NPT Compressed air connection
(incl. adapter)
DS 90 to DS 1980 NPT Drain connection
DS 250 to DS 1980 NPT Cooling water connection
DS 490 to DS 1980 ANSI flange Compressed air connection
TYP DH
DH 4 to DH 22 NPT Compressed air connection
DH 30 to DH 90 BSP / NPT Compressed air connection
(incl. adapter))
DH 30 to DH 90 BSP / NPT Drain connection (with adapter)
DH 120 to DH 230 BSP / NPT Compressed air connection
(incl. adapter)
DH 120 to DH 630 BSP / NPT Drain connection (with adapter)
DH 290 bis DH 630 ANSI flange Compressed air connection
DH 290 to DH 630 NPT Cooling water connection
