with responsibilities related to shipboard daily operation and maintenance of vessels, 2-

stroke engine systems.

2. Prerequisites
The trainees should have a basic knowledge of marine 2-stroke engine systems
together with some operational experience of the 2-stroke engine system. Formal
theoretical education in engineering is preferred but is not mandatory

3. The objective of the training course

The trainees shall be able to maintain the 2-stroke RT-flex engine system in a safer,
reliable and economical way, take care of the engine (plant) as well as make a more
effective contribution to the operation of machinery. The trainees will receive a detailed,
theoretical introduction in RT-flex common rail technology. Hands-on training will be
provided on flex components, exchange of FCM-20 and ALM-20, Rail Valve, Crank
Angle Sensor, Exhaust Valve Stroke Sensor and Pulse Lubrication System, flexView in
“Operator mode”, work on the flex-simulator (pulse lubrication system, simulation of
failures, modifications on control hardware, etc.).Receive information for modifications
on hardware and service aspects (mechanical and electrical problems).
