Introducción
When you have a “brand of your own”, I mean, a brand designed by you for specific purposes,
you have a treasure. As an invaluable asset you have to communicate the good news to
everyone in the company to make them coherent when acting with your ideas and the spectrum
you want to give your creation.
Branding yourself keeps you current in your chosen field, opens doors for you, and creates a
lasting impression on clients, because only someone who is proud of himself and can give the
best can sell the best of his creation. By developing your own brand, you’ll have control over
people’s initial perception. If you don’t brand yourself, someone else will, and the outcome might
not be in your favour.
Relatively speaking, a strong brand influences its target market and works overtime to engage
those who may not have been targeted at all. A successful brand self-promotes, stimulates a
unique experience, breathes loyalty, and offers consistency in the quality of the service it offers.

Rather than creating multiple brands, build a single, dominant brand that reflect a number of
product lines, events, branding campaigns, or other brandable entities while reinforcing your
primary brand at all times. Then as your name offers the best to your audience you give your
audience the top-level brand you are reinforcing. If it doesn’t, throw it out of the strategies and
move on to other names that fit with the identity and character of the brand under which all other
products fit.
When you hear people talking about the need to redo a defined brand, don’t listen to their
conversation, and don’t use them as your branding gurus. For as long as your brand exists, it’s
your brand. It’s the promise you made yesterday and the message/promise you’ll make
tomorrow to your costumers. It’s the essence of what your business stands for and the esteem it
has built among all its stakeholders.
You can’t just change essence; you can’t just change your brand. What you can and should is
to be willing to change how your brand is presented. From time to time, you need to update your
brand presentation (the face of your brand not the deepest message) to keep it relevant to the
market in which it lives. Face it, market trends change and we need to change with it.

and based on that information complete the activity:
1. Draw the cycle of a brand. Be sure to take into account all the elements of this
process and explain shortly each of them.
