Vertical Positioning - Bird’s eye
It’s viewing an object from above as if you were viewing from a birds point of view.
Vertical Positioning - Worm’s eye
Viewing an object from below, as if you were a worm, often used to make certain objects
appear bigger/ taller.
Vertical Positioning - High Angle
Typically when the camera is looking down towards the object from a high angle, often
makes the object look smaller (swallowed up)
Vertical Positioning - Low Angle
Taken from below, looking up towards the Point of View, low angle often makes the object
seem bigger, and stronger.
Vertical Positioning - Dutch Tilt
The camera is always positioned on an angle, so it can be put with vertical lines and the
horizon line of the shot is not parallel with the bottom.
Horizontal Positioning - Front
It’s often a shot taken from the front of an object, only the front though, doesn’t matter
at what angle but it is often just taken using Eye level.
Horizontal Positioning - Back
Typically a shot taken just showing the back of the Point of View, it can be taken in many
different angle, but it is always the back of it.
Horizontal Positioning - ¾ Front
The shot is taken from the front but just showing ¾ of the front of an object while the
other ¼ is not showing, you can combine it with different angles.
Horizontal Positioning - ¾ Back
Typically the shot is taken from the back only showing ¾ of the back at any angle.
Horizontal Positioning - Profile
The shot is taken from only the side of the object at a horizontal angle, but can be
combined with any other angles. +
Rule Of Thirds (1)
Often the rule of thirds states that a piece should be divided into nine squares of
