Grade: Scale 2/3 (depending on experience)

Main Purpose
This advert is for a full time LSA incorporating both SEN and general LSA duties. 
Ideally with experience or interest in ASD and/ or SEMH (social and emotional mental 
health needs). 

To provide practical assistance to the line managers in the School in catering for the

personal welfare and education needs of pupils. As far as possible to ensure a safe 
working environment for staff and pupils. To contribute to facilitating pupil access to the 
education system, promoting inclusion, assessing and supporting achievement and 
monitoring progress towards the school’s objectives. Supporting pupils on the special 
educational needs register as required 

The ideal candidate for this role will be patient and supportive to the young pupils 
learning needs. You must have an understanding of basic learning difficulties and how 
to support low level learning. You must be a good communicator and have the ability to 
complete handovers with both the headteacher and parents. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

When supporting a child on a 1:1 basis: 

1. To work as a member of a team of adults to create an educational, caring 


environment that meets the specific needs of the child to be supported. 

2. To participate in curriculum planning, evaluation and in the development of a suitable 

learning programme of the child to be supported. 

3. To attend any relevant team or staff meetings and in-service training.
