recess, and free treats from the snack shack Friday for the Applecore
Celebration! Keep turning in those bookmarks Cox Cubs! We had 304
students meet the half-way bookmark goal and were able to
celebrate!

PTA News: Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us for the PTA meeting! Your student(s) received 5 extra
credit points for your attendance! It’s that time when we are looking for new parents to be on our PTA Board! If you’re
interested in joining the PTA Board there are a lot of positions available! Please email Sarah Gondek, our President at
sgondek0518@gmail.com

School News (second posting): 1. Please remember that unlike middle and high school the elementary grades are continuing
and constantly being averaged in with first semester scores/percentages. This is a district practice, not just our school. 2. We
were informed by the district that we will be adding an Intermediate Autism Program next year. We have new phones in our
building with a new security feature which allows a teacher to press a button and immediately call all lines at the front office
to report an incident. 3. We just had all our teachers complete the “Stop the Bleed” medical trauma training; it was wonderful
and we hope we never have to use what we learned! 4. The Infinite Campus phone app does not have all the features of the
computer-based program, please be checking the computer-program off of the CCSD website portal frequently to keep up to
date on your child’s grades.

Peace Week Next Week: Next week is “Peace Week” and we’ll be doing activities and having dress-up spirit days each day
(which are always optional). The following spirit dress days are as follows:
 Monday – no school
 Tuesday – Hippie Day
 Wednesday – Mix it Up Day (mismatched clothing)
 Thursday – Team Sports clothing
 Friday – School Pride Day – Be Kind, Cox shirts, Class shirts, or school colored clothing
